New Aircraft

I use portal basic, raise ground to 500m place portal then place invisible track close to portal,
Fix track height to 500m then drag to connect to portal. Now if you zero the ground height the portal should stay at the track height.

Doesn't always work but have found some portals will not allow height adjustment even if you have changed the hight range in the config file.

Sum really nice Aircraft in here by sum very talented people so well done folk's, I have a project where a railway line goes past Mascot Airport in Sydney on the way to Port Botany

You can just see the railway line in the DEM there below the end of the runway, Now can sum of the aircraft you folk have made be used for just scenery items where as i can just place them where i like or do i need to learn a bit about this whole aircraft using railway track thing to get the hang of it lol ?. I do not wish to have a working airport but sum of the planes i have seen in here would come in handy for my project, Anyway folks keep up the great work and thanks.

Mick,
There are some static models amongst them that are scenery models. The others are easy to place. Just place a length of 'Invisible Track' (there are 4 colours to chose from). They're invisible in driver. It isn't as convenient but airports are fairly structured so it isn't too difficult. Hope that helps.

Thanks Rob the more i think about it a couple of planes taking off or moving around the airport would certainly add to the atmosphere of the route so i will definitely look into this now, Thanks again.

It's good to have all modes of transport covered. It livens up the route. The Vancouver project I'm working on will have Planez, Trainz, Boatz, Carz, and Truckz thanks to the airport and a busy port. Sydney probably gives you an opportunity to do something similar, particularly around Mascot. Busy airport on Botany Bay full of industry & shipping, not to mention the train traffic. Sounds like a good project.

Don't be scared of the aircraft. There is plenty of info on Vulcan's website http://ianztrainz.com/ . The "aircraft action triggers" are pretty important to get familiar with and the aircraft themselves have details about what the triggers trigger..... All on the website. Anything else, just post on this thread and one of us will help you. The AI side of it is a black art to me at the moment but the aircraft are all built to handle it.

Thanks Rob i grabbed sum Qantas Planes last night both drivable and static and i'm impressed with them that i'll try and include sum landing or getting dragged around the terminal.

I'd imagine there is a heap of other airport stuff on the DLS to dress up the scene so yeah i'm looking forward to this being a part of the layout now.

Embraer 145LR & 145XR - Delta Connection

Wow Gordon! That glider pilot is a dead ringer for a guy I used to work with who owned a very similar aircraft . Even the hat and sunglasses!

Still on Embraers......

The Delta Connection variants of the ERJ145 have strayed into YVR South terminal. There must have been a problem landing in the mountains in Washington state....
As for the United aircraft, the XR is the one with the winglets. The XR only existed in Delta colours for about a year before the contract with ExpressJet was terminated and they were re-painted in ExpressJet's green livery (coming soon). The LR has lasted much longer and is operated by Chautaugua Airlines who also support United and American airlines with the same aircraft.

Embraer 145XR - ExpressJet 2008

You've been busy with those Viscounts Pascal. Well done! For me, it's the ERJ-145 at the moment. Nearly done...

This is the rest of the ExpressJet/Delta story.
Once the ExpressJet/Delta agreement was terminated, the XR aircraft used on those routes were re-branded to the independent ExpressJet colours. As far as I know, the only two companies flying the ERJ-145XR today are ExpressJet & United Express. I suspect the United aircraft are operated by ExpressJet anyway.

I quite like the livery of this aircraft. It's a lot brighter than the main US carriers.

It was a request of a friend trainzer to match with the time period of his map: 2 Air Inter Viscounts of the first batch received from Air France in 1962.
Only changes: the registration numbers and the company name in black color.
