New Aircraft

I have noticed that on all of the wonderful airport layouts there is a lack of blast deflectors. Blast deflectors are every where in the airport, they are an essential part to the safe operation of an airport or aircraft manufacturing area. If any of you developers would venture to make a blast fence (deflector), I am sure it would be a welcome addition to the DLS. Here is a link to a web site that designs/manufactures blast deflectors:

There was an blast deflector/fence that I d/l from an European site and some how I can't find it anywhere, so I know there is at least one out there!

Thanks,

Johnny
PS don't forget to weather the surfaces with soot!

Will you ever release your airports, the kiwi(forgot the name) and sant marten
To Saba??

Hello Jamie and all,
I am currently in the process of adding an extension plus rail link to the Tauranga route, but I might release the Sint Maarten route.

The 747 looks great Pascal.

Yep, that's the one, I had it all along on my HD. I could not think of an altenate name other than "Blast Fence," that's what we called them when I worked on aircraft, we never called them "Exhaust Shield."

Thanks,
Johnny

Looking great Gordon.

I have finished the runway at Sint Maarten, even the take off is interesting as the larger planes have to turn sharply to miss the mountains at the end of the runway.

An example here, plus what not to do behind a 747 taking off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-d21sIjCg-M

:hehe::hehe::D:D:hehe::hehe:

They would have to be mad. I would not even like to drive a car along there when a plane is taking off.

Thanks for the link.

Hi En-zed-em-es, ;)

Your flags of Saba and the Dutch Antilles are ready...

Sorry for the delay. Much to do and a few neurons left yet. :hehe:

You can get them from:If used on a layout for release, there won't be no problem to get them since they are going to be available and stay at the IBTZ Flag Section site for centuries to come... :p (at least until 2034 when the Never Failing Company has decided that the End of the World is happening according to the timing of our lifetime FCT's :hehe: ). Sorry, no more DLS for me.

Enjoy them. They very colourful and fanciful.

The Antillean side of Alberte

Nice videos. At first, I thought 'why no blast deflectors?' but when I saw the second video, I realized that was where planes also landed, which could be problematic. Yeah, that's probably not the best place to stand...

Thank you very much! :D
They look great!

Gisa, I think they use the tourists as blast deflectors now! :hehe:

:hehe: seems the tourists are volunteering to do that themselves.

Seriously though...I wonder, no burn marks or permanent hearing loss being that close?

There would have to be cases of that, and the only thing stopping it is a fence and this sign!

Side aside, that's Darwinism at it's best I suppose. :/

I love the video with the umbrella and how it flies off...perfect example right there.
