New AI Challenge

OK, here's a challenge for the AI. I have a local line, two tracks with a station. Trains regularly come in each direction and stop at the station. There is also a branch with a shuttle train, whose loco does a runaround before the shuttle goes back down the branch. I can't make the local trains wait while the shuttle does its runaround, as soon as they see a clear way to the station they go for it and get in the way of the runaround. Any ideas on how I might get this to work? If this description isn't clear enough I'll make a diagram.
Thanks,
Mick Berg.

Hi Mick,

Could your main trains drive to a track mark just outside the station and then wait until the branch train passes over a trigger on its way back down the branch before they then enter the station?

Thanks for that suggestion. Trouble is that there is a constant stream of local trains, and the shuttle only arrives every forty minutes. But I think I've actually got it to work by changing some signals. And I also realised I was suffering from the dreaded "Invisible Station at 90 degrees" bug.

priority

Acucally the mains should have priority, but try double lights for the mains, or set the runaround with long enough track to clear yet stop for the mains if they are occupied. you could set runaround at a different level.

The route uses semaphore signals. Is there an equivalent of "double lights"?
And by level do you mean priority? I haven't gotten into that yet.
Thanks,

Accually trainz does not do axact as you would think, set two lights on all tracks to test what works for what you want, and the right turnout will have priority default. By level, I mean set an under or over pass for the runaround.
