Netbook won't start 2010.

2010 runs fine on my PC. 2006 ran quite well on my Samsung netbook, but 2010 won't even start up. It says my computer is unable to connect correctly to Trainz. I have directx9 installed and the latest video drivers. I know it won't run smoothly, but thought that 2010 was supposed to be less resource hungry?
Is there anything I can do to get it started?
Steve.

Hi Steve,

Welcome to the Trainz forums! Try running Trainzdiag located in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Auran\TS2009\bin

or C:\Program Files\Auran\TS2009\bin

depending whether you have a 32-bit or 64-bit OS.

What other details can you tell us about your PC. What operating system? What processor, video card, memory, etc. does your machine have?

Happy holidays,

John

Its not really meant to run 2010, the hardware is not upto it. GMA950s are in comparasion to most other intergrated solutions, are crap! Your Samsung Netbook (NC10 by any chance?) has probably the same spec as my eeePC 901. So, Atom 1.6ghz, 1GB Ram, GMA950 and 160GB HD?

In theory, its possible to run TS2010 on something this small, I've got 09 to run on my eeePC, but it was nowhere near smooth! I'll have to have ago. I'm also running Windows 7 on it.

BTW, don't unplug the netbook, it causes trainz to crawl!

Thanks for the quick comments. Trainzdiag comes up with several warnings, but I'm not expecting it to run well, just wish it would start.
