I really hope someone can help me. I'll try to make this short. I purchased Trains 12 for my 9 year old son yesterday. I downloaded Impulse, but it won't open. It keeps saying it encountered a problem and has to shut down. Then the error reporting thing pops up and you can't even send it because it says there is an error with error reporting.

So we decided to download impulse and the game to my dad's laptop and attempt to transfer the trainz game to my computer. We can't find a USB drive with enough memory. So my questions are:

How can I get Impulse to work on my computer?
Can I transfer Trainz 12 from one computer to another and do I still need Impulse to get the game to work?
Why wouldn't Impulse work when I have Internet Explorer 7, Framework 2.0, etc... Do I have to delete other versions of Framework off my computer?

Do you think they'll give me a full refund if nothing works? My son is so disappointed and so am I. Please Help.

I don't know what Impulse is.
What I do know is that generally if you try to transfer any version of Trainz EVEN between drives on your PC it doesn't work. Nothing beats a fresh install.

From what I can gather, Impulse is a digital download service, like Steam.

The advice, as always, is to make sure you are running it as administrator if using Windows Vista or 7. (see my tutorial website if you are not sure how to do this)

If the running as admin doesn't work, I would definitely get a refund and buy the DRM-free version from here. Even Steam's version isn't well-supported and they are a major distributor; I doubt Impulse is any better. And, since Impulse, like Steam, appears to use DRM, I highly doubt you can transfer it from one computer to another as that defeats the purpose of DRM. FYI, if you had the Auran version, that would be no problem,
