Need help on transferring files to new Trainz version

I am confused on how to transfer all my stuff from one build to another. Here is what I did.

I have TS12 build 49992 running with lots of my routes running correctly with no missing assets and not errors.
I updated to build 61388 using a virgin copy of build 49992 (that is with none of my content or asset downloads needed to run my routes and sessions).
I then copied the "Userdata" directory from build 49992 with all my routes and local content to build 61388.

I have ended up with about 800 missing assets for my routes. I thought if I copied the userdata folder over that this should include all the assets for my routes.

What did I do wrong? Thanks for any help.

I would suggest doing a revalidation if you can using View Errors and Warnings. Failing that, check what dependencies are missing using View Dependencies.

Failing that, check what dependencies are missing using View Dependencies.

Try this first! Often when you do this (particularly after a database repair) all the missing dependency warnings will disappear when trainz suddenly realises that they aren't actually missing.

This is why the program is so unfriendly to new comers.

I now took a copy of my TS12 build 49922 and did a patch to 61388 to see what happens.

Build 49922 was updated to 61388 successfully, and after the complete database repair I now have 278 missing assets. How can this be????? Build 49922 had no missing assets.

Some of the assets are on the DLS and some of the missing ones have ????. How can this be. They were all there in build 49922. The patch should preserve all the assets I had in the previous build. So what is the problem?

This isn't always the case though. All it takes is for one or two assets to be corrupt and it removes them to the backup folder.
