Need help deleting uneditable splines (TS12)

Hard to say for certain, it's such an intermittent thing and usually happens over THERE while you're working over HERE so you never see it right away. Apparently nobody knows the exact cause for certain, or has a confirmed faulty asset that will duplicate the gripe first time every time so it's impossible to pin it down. Undo/redo maybe, deleting baseboards maybe, what I found when working on the first Chicago Metro was level crossings that went spastic every time it happened, and the same ones also rendered phantom crossing bells 10 miles away from the nearest one sometimes. Got rid of all of them, no more phantom bells, didn't cure the screwy spline object completely but reduced it to the occasional "spline track that thinks it's a fixed track object" in small areas. Odd part about that is all four turntables on the route would vanish when I deleted the faulty track section using the scenery object tool, I still haven't determined if the turntable object was the cause or a victim of some other bug. These screwy spline track becoming fixed track bugs were happening miles away from the nearest turntable, so why the turntables were always affected by the deletion is still a mystery.

Now the trick is... How do you create a shear wall like that on purpose.

Not real sure just what I'd use it for, but ya never know.

Possibly for a backdrop or for cliff use.

But how do you do it if you want it?

Demo..

You can Lay a track Down..Use your height control button, click on each end of spline circle as the height you want and the turf will rise up to it using the track smooth tool..

I know this is an old thread, but this might be helpful. Here is one workaround I chanced upon when trying every possible option to get rid of a completely immovable stretch of track. I was replacing assets to upgrade a route from TS2012 to TANE. I was working on the Route layer, unlocked.

I got stuck with an undeletable piece of track, which had earlier been connected to a level crossing which I deleted. I noticed that the straight, isolated track ended in twin pale white spline circles at each end. Not single ones, and not yellow. No deletion option worked.

I then went to wireframe mode, selected Tools, copy-paste button, and selected a small area of empty space. I copied that empty area onto the twin splines at one end, and poof! the track was gone.
