Need Free TGA File Read-Print Software

Hello All!!

I have saved several screenshots of my HO layout, which I designed using Surveyor. I have searched the Web in vain for a free donwloadable TGA file format reader and printer. I have investigated several so-called free downloads, only to find out that they are only time-limited free trials of commercial software.

Does anyone have a recommendation for obtaining free TGA reader-printer software?

paint.net Gimp are both free, paint.net is simpler.

a favorite among trainzers here is irfanview which is free as well.

If you only want to view and print the image, open Windows Explorer, navigate to the folder which contains it, right-click on it and select the option to open it in Internet Explorer.

If you also want to crop the image, adjust its contrast, convert to another graphics file format, etc, then IrfanView http://www.irfanview.com is excellent.

If you want to integrate the image into a multi-layered structure, for example to put editable text on top of it, then the GIMP http://www.gimp.org can do that.

Try 'em all, see which you prefer.

I use XNview which does what you want and also will convert to other formats. It is freeware.

Thanks for the suggetions for downloading free TGA file converters. I have successfully donwloaded and installed IRFANVIEW and GIMP. I am happily viewing and printing my layout screenshots.
