need for speed

while searching the forum i found info to increase acceleration & top speed my modifying the config file for the engine spec. i have found the max speed and increased the speed ( i know its in meters per second) yet no matter what i change it to the max speed doesnt change yet its changed in the config file; ive gotten it to save there. will the speed increase work in both driving modes(cab & the arcade style)? any help or more detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated

The speed tag in the enginespec only determines the max speed when in DCC mode. Max speed in CAB mode is determined by the values in the throttle-power container (diesel) or steam container (steam).

Find the loco's enginespec, open it for edit and edit the config.txt file. Find the Motor section and put in the value for the maxspeed, in meters/sec. To find meters/sec, multiply speed in MPH by .45 to get meters/sec or multiply KPH by .28 to get meters/sec.
