Navigating to a destination

Hi there, This is my first post so please be kind! The interest for me with rail simulators is driving - not content creation or scheduling AI trains.

I'm having trouble working out how to set the points automatically for a destination. Say I'm at one end of a route and want to get to a station at the other and have all the points set automatically to get me to that destination, is there a way to do this?

So far the only option I seem to have is setting the points manually via the map mode. I have tried "Navigate to.." but the train sets off on its own, and the "Change destination" option doesn't seem to make any difference. These are both in Quick Drive mode after entering the surveyor and placing a train. I am using the Mac version. Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Ash

If your driving yourself you'll have to set the points also, ctrl j or just j depending which direction your going.
I'd put an Ai in cab and give the navigate to command then stop him and take over. When you get to an area with lots of points close together give him the continue command until you've a clear road.

Better than "Navigate to" use "Drive to". Train will take a direct route and will wait until clear rather than going around looking for a way to reach the desired place.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a go.

I would strongly recomend registering the serial number as well.

Not sure what this refers to. I downloaded my version through the Mac App Store, no serial number.

That issue can be resolved by the OP entering their username and password into the Trainz Options/Configure Trainz box.

Failing that, it's a Helpdesk issue.

To get the switches set the way you want them, you could open the route in Surveyor, and set them there. Then save the route. Open in Driver and they should appear the way you set them in surveyor. Drive to your hearts content and do not wory about throwing those pesky switches.
