Narrowgauge's Porter

Many... many... years ago, Narrowgauge released his Porter files to anyone who wanted to modify it. A very generous, community oriented, offer. He turned it into a light hearted competition.
Two questions, first, does anyone still have those files, and second, since he did lease them to the public, is it appropriate to ask? We might as well make it three questions. If the answer the both is "yes" would someone mind sharing them. Mind were lost in the wind years ago.

Thank you for posting the website address Frank.

A couple of snaps I took on my rebuild of the Angel's Branch in TRS19. Very nice to have No.3 at last.

With the freelance 'modern' 4-4-0 the cab interior isn't available anymore so I used the same one intended for Sierra Railway No.3.

Thanks Frank, but I was looking for the source files he released. I have his Porter, but it obviously pretty dated.

To be pedantic, he released the files to a small group of people that agreed to abide by certain terms and conditions. When I uploaded my modified version to the DLS, I specifically asked him if I could release my modified source files publicly. His reply was no, he would like to be the gatekeeper for those files. So unfortunately, I need to honor his wishes.
That being said, the source files are definitely showing their age now; you would be far better off to start from scratch.

Thanks for the reply Curtis. At least now I know I'm not loosing my mind...lol
Honor his wishes, as I would expect you to. Like I said, a lot of water passed under the bridge since then. I didn't remember the details other then not to ask for them unless you were serious about particapating. I lost mine several PC's ago.
Just curious... Did your 30" Porter come from those beginning? If so, I wasn't aware of that. I always liked your Porter. Wished it was 36, but very nice.

Yes, mine was a modification of his original mesh. The prototype was from a 30" railroad that transported ore from the V&T to a mill a couple miles down the river.
Someday, I'll rebuild that loco from scratch, but not sure it will be any time soon.
