People looking for content for older versions like UTC or 2004 should consider narrow gauge trains as an option. I've located a LOT of UTC compatible locomotives and rolling stock as well as scenery for 3ft (36") gauge railroads.
Search the DLS (or the Internet) for Denver and Rio Grande or Rio Grande Southern. San Juan Trainz Works by Prowler901
at http://www.steammachine.com/prowler/ has a lot of great stuff that looks very good in Trainz UTC. I'm working on a layout with all D&RGW rolling stock. No roads, cars or tall buildings but plenty of horses and buggys!
