ok if you are very good at Gmax and can handle it not long for a simple loco, i have been Gmaxing for 5 years But still do only basic things

We've found that using the HEIDI driver works best with Vista. OpenGL and DirectX tend to cause white display screens, that you then need to click on, etc. to get them to show.
First, go to http://www.44090digitalmodels.co.uk/, download all the tutorials, and pay particular attention to the first one, Setting up Gmax.
Then go to http://www.ianztrainz.com.au/ and download all of Ian's and study them.
As your first project go to http://www.tafweb-trainz.co.uk/tutorials.html, and do the bank. If you get that to work, then you're on your way.
There are many more tutorials out there, as there is alway more than one way to skin a cat, so read all you can. Ask questions as someone will be more than happy to help.

Bit of a bump...
Just wondered how much European NG stuff is generally available? After my current project is finished (hopefully in a week or three) I have a developing interest in the Sulitjelma line in northern Norway* at least as a basic for a freelance route. Obviously there's the built in stuff in TRS2006 from the logging route but I was also thinking passenger cars and even if there's any 3'6" diesel locos as the route survived into the early 1970's. It doesn't have to be Norwegian/Scandinavian specifically, German stuff would do.
(* - continuing my penchant for modelling obscure lines that few people have heard of and challenge my research resources to the limit! :udrool: ).

What you need is...
...a ton of trackside cattle. (Like in The Reverend Wilbert Awdry's "Four Little Engines" book story, "Old Faithful".) You can then pretend that they attack your train or stuff...How about it?:hehe:

Anybody know where to find a Class A T-Boiler Shay(particularly number 2)? I've searched both the download station and the web for one but I haven't had any luck. I've got a couple of other shays already; a class C shay: 36", two three cylinder shays: 24", and one 30" shay.

Hey, everyone knows narrow gauge was heavily into mining. Well, TRS06 didn't exactly come with much in the way of mine cars and engines. It did come with 18" track, but nothing to run it on. Anybody know where to find mine carts and mine engines for 18"?

Hi,
I've have two 36ng class A's in the working as I write. The first is a vertical boiler 12 ton two cylinder two truck Shay and I will give it a showing this weekend. (It's on the tracks but I want to add more detail to it first before showing it off.)
The second will be a 36ng T boiler Shay at 13 tons so, hold your britches, they're on the way...

Do a search on the DSL for the user shortline2. Linda has some 18" mining equipment.

That, i have to say, is wonderful. My brother would be kissing your feet right now knowing you've got those in the works. :hehe: My family owns a live-steam 2.5" scale T-Boiler Class-A Shay, and both me and my brother have been captivated by Shay's ever since, especially ones that our engine is modeled after. Thanks.
And thanks for the info about the mining stuff Wreeder. That's stuff I've been looking for since I got TRS06.
