Yeah, I've got the Uintah 2-6-6-2 already. It's a really grand locomotive. The only thing I don't like about it though is that its front and back trailing wheels are rigid; they don't move with the track. So if you ever make the 2-8-8-2's, see if you can fix that problem.

Yeah, I noticed that aswell, but I'm afraid trainz just can't do it, unless there is some very complex scripting involved....

The Bigboy has perfectly functional front and back trailing trucks, so i don't see why the same rules can't apply for the 2-6-6-2 or 2-8-8-2.

Nope, no scripting is required at all. It just requires careful thought when creating the bogey in relation to the zero point on the axis. And, proper placement of the bogey helper points.

Well cool, it's good to know that. If I could get my Content Creator to work, then I could try and fix that problem on the 2-6-6-2.

My mistake, I thought you knew. The mesh is Ben Neal's and I doubt he'll give it up. As for how to fix it, Todd gave you what's needed.

Ok, thanks. But, by any chance, do you know how to get the CCP to work on Windows Vista (I already know a lot of programs have a hard time working on Vista). There are some things that I can't find anywhere on the net like 2-8-8-2 Mallets and K-28s so it'd be nice to have a creator to make what I want.

CCP only assists in the creation of config files. It's been known to screw up the file, so most people avoid using it and study similar configs to construct what they want. You'll need some sort of modeling program, gmax is what most people use for Trainz, 3DC is used by some and they love it, but it has an odd interface in my opinion. SketchUp is another but don't know if they've ever got an exporter for Trainz yet.
Start small and don't expect to make a Mallet on your first try. Read all the tutorials you can. Good luck, you'll need it.

Hold your breath, Todd's workin' on the 28!! :hehe: Also, starting with locomotives caused me to go bald...not really (I'm NOT bald...), but I was close to pullin' my hair out! That's why I started with coaches.

Eh, slowly...I had a huge burnout from Trainz, but have just gotten back into it. With VIGOR. :hehe: Anyway, all I need to do with the coaches is some texture work...and that's about it! Shouldn't be too long. I won't set a date, because we are going to be traveling a bit over the summer, but I'd say by August...that's just to keep myself safe. Probably before then!

Hey, thanks for the info guys. It's good to know there is a K-28 on the way. Of all steam engines, that one is my favorite. I've been on the Durango and Silverton twice now, and both times I could hardly keep my eyes off of the 28s.

As for the Mallets, they're probably my favorite standard gauge engine. I just love the gigantic front cylinders. For some reason, the fact that the boiler's diameter is as thick as the height of the cylinders absolutely amazes me.

Well, I've downloaded Gmax 1.1, but it's saying that to register I have to upgrade to 1.2. Is the Trainz Asset Creation Studio compatible with 1.2?

Also, does anyone have any good tips before I get started. I know not to start with locos (I want to keep my hair thank you very much:hehe:) but any other useful information would be nice.

Yes Trainz Asset Creation Studio is compatible with 1.2 best to start off with say a house barn or even basic rolling stock :D
