Be it Trainz or T:ANE there are mysterious pauses and speed changes when running an AI train. I see that type of control necessary in a GAME but not in a Simulator. How can you possible create a "real as it gets" scenario when the program intervenes, sometimes for no obvious reason. It has always been this was as people guessed as to the cause of the stops, pauses and speed changes.
I submit that these occurrences strongly detract from the use of the program as a simulator. Someone, at some time, decided to enter these controls to prevent novices from becoming discouraged if they mis-managed a train. I thought that a simulator would allow the customer to perform whatever actions they wanted to and the consequences were then part of the learning curve. Holding the hand of the novice is good but eventually becomes a real pain in the ____.
