My thougths on TS 2009 (part 6)

Hi.

Loading time.

Another part of TS 2009 where I'm really disapointed is the loading time it take to load my route. Back in TRS 2004, my route was taking up to 10 minutes to load. That was a real pain. Then, in TRS 2006 and computer's upgrade, I lower that to less than 3 minutes.

Now in TS 2009, I'm back to TRS 2004. In this beta 1 version, it take almost 10 minutes to load my route and I'm extremely annoyed. What changed since 2006 ???

Two thumbs down here !!!

I read somwere once that BETAs are full of diagnostics clutter whitch allways slows things down. and you'l just have to putup with it untill the release comes out.

Clovis Sub loads in 09 in 1/3 the time of 06. The FPS are tripled in 09, using the same route and same scenario. And the textures in 09 are more vibrant.

It is also possibly something related to a script or a particular object rather than the route itself. Once you have saved a TRS2004/6 map in 2009 it will save out as a much smaller file which, if you have memory constraints, is likely to improve performance somewhat.

Hi guys.

You are lucky if your route loads faster in 09, but mine take 3 times more time. I don't have any scripts and I have 4 gb of ram, so I don't think its a memory constraint. I'll wait to the final version to see if things are better.

I'm using objects from early Trainz version back in 2000, does may cause problem with TS 2009 ??? All object imported correctly in CMP v2 and are visible on my route, but maybe it the reason why it take longer to load ??? But how to know which object would make a problem ???

Andre.

Check your route and session in CM2 and see if there are any errors, broken or missing dependencies. That could be slowing your load time down considerably because Trainz driver or surveyor is trying to work around the broken or missing assets and or dependencies. Getting the full build will probably not make any difference if this is what's going on.

For sure I'll check that. I'll have to wait the final version as my beta 1 is no longer working and I have uninstalled it.

I'll try to figure out what is the problem. I tried deleting missing assets into Surveyor, but that didn't help.
