My Signature

As far as signatures are concerned, which always seems to be an issue wherever you post, on one of the forums I use, the size of signatures is limited by a script, if it's too big it will get shrunk automatically, same with oversize images, so the problem doesn't arise and leaves mods free to deal with more serious stuff. Of course that depends on what forum software is used and if it's editable at all, however it keeps the dial up and low bandwidth users happy.

Moderating IMO is all about maintaining a fair balance between out and out disregard for the TOC and the mistakes, errors, didn't read the TOC or know it even exists and bad hair day that most people have happen at some point, which seems to be pretty much the way these forums are dealt with.

Compared to a certain very large collection of message boards I used to moderate for a few years, with on occasions hundreds of argumentative, flaming, trolling and discriminatory posts per hour to check, this place is very well behaved and doesn't need a heavy handed approach and FWIW the moderation, IMO is fine.

Some people feel that posting Birthday greetings is pointless, useless and a waffle.

If that is correct, the Mods should delete all birthday greetings immediately and N3V should delete the Calendar from the Forums so that no further birthday greetings (waffles) are posted in the future.

dont misunderstand me, i asked how you determined to make such threads, and then make so many at once. it only raises a question of it it qualifies as just another thread being in the way. after not seeing any for so long there were 3 or more in one day. could be seen as spam, i am just pointing that out. maybe just one thread for it? i didnt however report you to the mods for taking up space on the new posts area where i go to read things, that is what i was getting at in my post above. some people will purposely seek out posts or signatures to report for whatever reason, as if they think they are also moderators.

Please accept my apology for consuming your time.

Your contributions, creations and knowledge are unparalleled in the Trainz Community.

There was no specific agenda in my posts other than the 3 posts were to Zec, deeelare and clam1952 who had birthdays in a two day time frame. I did want to acknowledge these people, who have been long term members of the Forums and for their contributions to the forums.

With regard to spam, as you know, Zec and AJ Fox and Rob replied in the posts and they did not seem to consider them offensive or spam.

So again, please accept my apology to you personally.

Regards,

You mean you didn't get a "pretty please" E Mail Ron?:D You know; "Please stop posting Happy Birthday greetings because some members consider them spam?" Or maybe you did, but being the troublemaker and ne'er do well you are you decided to ignore it. What a brutish thug you are!
Those birthday greetings just ruin the forums for everyone, taking up space and all that, and now look what you've done, you've gone and irritated another member by cluttering up his new posts section!

I think I'm beginning to see you in a new light. I bet you're wearing a motorcycle jacket right now and those "terminator" sunglasses!

I will patiently await my E Mail, politely asking me to cease and desist.;)
If your like me after posting in one of these threads I get emails but there often not so polite more like death threats.

I have no problem with the birthday posts - as long as there in the right area of the fourms - do not like birthday post - do not read the community area of the fourm.

OK fixed it!

I've gotten in on this thread a little late and without trying to extend the lunacy going on, I'll comment back to the OP. Your sig looks good; however, IMHO, it's just a little dark. I think it would come across better if it was lightened up a little.

Now back to the commercials....:hehe:

I kind of want it to be dark, it is sort of a memorialish kind of signature...

Well, if you're having trouble sleeping you should see a doctor. I don't know what you expect me to do about it, but I always try to be helpful! In that vein, allow me to suggest Alcohol, Benadryl, or Nyquil. There are also some over the counter sleep meds available, but I think most of those contain Benadryl anyway, so you may as well cut out the middleman.
Young men need their sleep, so I hope you are able to overcome your insomnia.

OK I'm closing this one, IMHO it's strayed a long way from what is spelled out clearly in the CoC.

An important part of being a moderator is the ability to be moderate, and our moderators do a very good job of using the privelage responsibly for the benefit of all members.

Thanks.
