My Retirement Anouncement

Where is a coal turbine in those quoted images ? As I remember they operated off of Bunker Oil C

UP #80 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Pacific_GTELs#Experimental_coal-burning_turbine

I've been doing some research and this is what I think ANL did with turbines

1 x UP #80

5 or 6 x UP "car body" turbines from the UP #51-60 range

7 or 8 x UP "veranda" turbines from the UP #61-70 range

Plus two or three tender styles that go with both above locomotives.

So far as I know he didn't do these https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GE_steam_turbine_locomotives but I could be wrong.

Thanks to Swordfish I now have ANL's UPRR #80 Coal Turbine. I've installed it in TANE SP2 and it seems fine.

I have forwarded the file to JohnWelan for inclusion on his website. These are, so far as I can tell, ANL's original files. Note that this comes with two variants of the B unit. :D

More to come, I hope.

Edit: John tells me it will be tomorrow before he can get these up. (Apparently he has a life too.) :D

Some warnings about this locomotive; the unit accelerates and decelerates very slowly, the AI will overshoot signals and so will you :D, the center section is quite long and derails on not so tight corners, I managed to derail it trying to get out of Bailey Yard :D.

The #80 never worked right, the turbine would through turbine blades out the sides. None of the turbines could be run in a city as they sound just like a jet plane.

Does John host the Alco's too?

Simply all the ANL stuff available at one place?

Would be very nice.

☼...

Working on it.

Thanks to UP844 at TrainzItalia I now have the "Car Body" and "Veranda" Turbines and have sent the files to JohnWhelan, they should be available tomorrow.

I haven't had a chance to drive these yet but UP844 suggests that someone might consider making an alternate e-spec for them as they use the 8500hp spec from cloakedghost. :D

I think I have a rough enginespec for the 4500 HP turbines somewhere in my highly organized :hehe: external HD... I'll look for it :D.

"Pendolino", that's it, I could not remember UP844's username here. Uploading the e-spec to the DLS would be very helpful Pendolino. :D

And one last one before I go on with my real life :hehe:

ANL's Union Pacific SW-9

Should be on John's site tomorrow.

Unfortunately, when I registered at Auran back in 2002, "UP844" was no more available... :'(.

I'll look for the 4500 HP e-spec!

I have anl's alco fa and pa units still in cdp form is there a need for them to be included on john's site or are they already there?
