Greetings;
I use Ver 2009 in native mode and have created my first tree. Using gmax, I made the tree trunk with three branches, crowned by mesh clusters of various sizes and spaced in such a way that, when viewed at cartain angles, light comes through the crown, thus enhancing the depth illusion.
Having had many hours of practice with Blender and gmax, the tree took me around three hours--I had to start over again once because of an error.
Posting a picture of the tree in 2d, won't do it justice.
I have also made three bushes, nothing spectacular about them. However, once installed in Trainz, I view the tree while moving past it, just as if you were sitting in the loco cab or passenger car. Then you are able to judge whether or not the creation passes the illusory muster.
Now, its time for me to start making something other than flora.
Cheers,
srude.
