The only problem I have with CSX is their track is terrible and also they do not take care of their locomotives. My friend worked for CSX for a year and quit because of the terrible service on their engines.

In relation to my earlier submission when I get round to a break I hope to pop across the Irish Sea from Glasgow buy a rail runabout pass and chunter around N. Ireland Ralways like a kid in a sweet shop for the best part of a week.

Wow. It's amazing what i just started up.

in the u.s. the're usually called railROADS, or at least they were when i was growing up. elsewhere on the planet the term railWAYS does seem to be generally prevelant.

at any rate mine are not limited to any one nation, continent nor hemisphere, so their initials might seem almost meaningless, the're also mostly less then 4'8.5" in gauge, though not all of them.

anyway these would include the
ncngrr
dhr
MZb
StLb
JNR/JR
ffestiniog
whr
narrow gauge japanese private lines
whatever they call the narrow gauge portion of the line in viet nam
odd little railroads and railway any and every place else
L&Br (peg leg railway)
the shonen and other WORKING monorail lines, mostly in japan

all sorts of odd little industrial and agricultural opperation using often rather odd looking equipment and even odd looking guideways

but i do prefer and enjoy mostly those with some sort of passinger opperation, and the more passinger service and emphasis on it the better.

my favorite standard gauge line from in the past would probably have to be the western pacific up the feather river cannion. i just wish they could have continued to run more passinger service then just the zypher and zypherette's through the 50s and 60s and right up to amtrak.

for that matter i'd like to see a LOT more mu local trains on rural lines in north america, and of course i love what i see of trains over in europe and elsewhere where they still run quite a few.

althoug i hate seeing them repainted that ugly red the db started when it went private.

so mostly just about anything running on narrow gauge of any narrow gauge rails today, with m.u.'s, diesels and occasionally even more exotic power, like the perry people movers on the ffestiniog.
