 wow, nice work there. I think that U.P. didn't have locos that the lettering were like Union Pacific, it's UNION PACIFIC in caps, but nice drawing.:D:udrool:

Now that I see this (and I or someone else has probably asked before so sorry in advance) Sketchup looks like a fairly simple program to use in comparison to the likes of Blender. Is this the case or not as I'd really haven't been getting to grips with Blender even with tutorials? I realise that's a very subjective question so sorry again.

Thanks,
Stupid me.

pfx: The sketch 8 that I have is easier then Blender..No your not stupid either because there is a lot of people out their that do not understand Blender(including me)..The problem in lies that you cannot get it into Trainz Animated and ready to run..The New Sketch-Pro 8 is capable of putting it into Trainz but its not ready to run..My understanding is, you have to use a program like Blender to export it right..I just love to Draw the Darn Things, so thats why I have never Furthered myself..To be honest with you..I would just to like have somebody animate them get them into trainz and I would take one-half credit for the Engine..

UPRR TTT5

I do have 5511 on the list of road numbers for the 2-10-2.

Thanks for the reply Bob. I'll download it and see how I go though I've got a lot of other route stuff on my plate right now.

That looks very good. Lots of detail. I have created a New Jersey Transit comet IV cab car in the free version of Google Sketchup 8. I hope the next free version of Google Sketchup has the ability to get stuff into trainz.

Matlikrthr: My understanding is the Sketch 8 Pro can..But I dunno I'm just looking for someone who might be interested..I have no idea if anybody is interested..But I sure do love drawing them..

Why not give Blender a try? Start with a cylinder for the boiler, you have the dimensions then build on it. For the moment ignore the bogey and wheels there are people who specialise in them we might get to assist.

Paul Hobbs has a Blender tutorial on steam locos that covers the basics in Blender 2.49b including extruding shapes for the cab etc.

There should be enough community resources to get this running in Trainz. You can go from sketch up into Blender then retexture but you might do better starting again directly in Blender from a performance point of view.

Cheerio John
