Murrysville & Western Track Issues

Hello, all. Chris here.

I have wanted to get a big model railroad for a while, and i must say, jrfolco's Murrysville & Western meets my requirements, however, most of the secondary tracks are missing with those annoying dashed white lines in their place. First, i needed some of Pofig's trees which i got a few minutes ago, but then I had <kuid2:156765:101178:1>, which is apparently an updated version of <kuid:156765:101178>, "ST 100# Jointed Rail Track No Ballast [Clean/Old]" that i couldn't find, so i changed it to kuid2:156765:101178>, the KUID that i have. Then it gave me <kuid2:156765:101178:127>, which is weird, cause it doesn't exist. So i changed that to <kuid:156765:101178>, with the tracks still missing, but with no missing deps.

Sorry for all of the details, but how can i fix the track so that it appears?

Sincerely,

Did you check Jointed Rail for any updated track?

John

While we are waiting - where is the Murrysville & Western? Can't see on the DLC. I looked out my window and it ain't there either. I live in Murrysville, PA.:udrool:

On the route page , there are links to all non DLS content plus the Pofig's trees download. I just downloaded all three links to the JointedRail web site, and there are no updates. I would suggest that you go back to the route page on my web site and re-download everything. In addition, there are four MRR items that need to have their build numbers changed to build 3.3 in the config.txt file, if you are using TS2010.

If you follow the instructions on the route page, you should be up and running without any problems.

Okay, Joe, but upon doing so, i still have the missing KUID. If you would, could you please check your route's deps and tell me if that KUID is correct?

Hi Chris

Assuming that the missing kuid that you are referring to is 2:156765:101178:1, then that is the correct kuid for the missing track (ST 100# Jointed Rail Track No Ballast [Clean/Old],<kuid2:156765:101178:1>). If you changed that kuid in the config.txt file, I would suggest that you delete it and type in kuid2:156765:101178:1. If you don't have that kuid, re-download it from JointedRail's web site at http://jointedrail.com/index.php/freeware/trackside-items/high-detail-track.html

That should work. If not, let me know.

Joe

No, the tracks won't download. They claim to be done within 2 minutes and then i get a message telling me that the pack cannot be opened.

The pack should read "simulatortrain_track.cdp", and be 79,401 KB in size. If it's not that size, then you're not getting a full download.

Joe

I have it at 79,543 KB. I already have it, so is there an update? The pack installs the first version.

Chris, I need to know exactly what you've done to create your situation. I first downloaded kuid2:156765:101175:1 this past July. It has not changed since July 6th. If it was updated, it was done before July 6th.

Have you searched for the kuid in CMP? Have you re-downloaded the route? Did you delete missing assets in surveyor? If so, then you'll have to delete the route, and download it again.

In order to help you solve the problem, I'll need as much detail as possible. Tell me what you've done.

Joe

1. I downloaded the route a few days ago.
2. I got the missing deps except for <kuid2:156765:101175:1>.
3. I looked on TKI (TrainzKUIDIndex) which gave me nothing. Then i looked for <kuid:156765:101175>, which was at JR.
4. I found it was some tracks from JR that i already had.
5. I then went into explorer and changed <kuid2:156765:101175:1> to <kuid2:156765:101175>, which then got changed automatically to <kuid2:156765:101175:127>
6. I changed <kuid2:156765:101175:127> to <kuid:156765:101175>, which gave it the track i already had.

That is exactly what i did, yes, i deleted and redownloaded the route, yes, i looked in CM3.7, no, i did not delete missing assets.

I just noticed that you're referring to the missing kuid as kuid2:156765:101175:1 That kuid is not the correct kuid that is used in the route. It's part of the pack that you downloaded from JointedRail, but the correct kuid, as I've stated before is kuid2:156765:101178:1, which is also part of the same pack.

If you do have this kuid, highlight the route in CMP. Hold CTRL-Shift-E. This will open the route folder in Windows Explorer. Double click on the config.txt file to open it in Notepad. Click on the Edit drop down menu, and then click on Find. A window will open. Type in <kuid2:156765:101178:1> and click on Find Next. It should appear on line 28 of the Kuid Table, and will be highlighted. If so, the route is OK. If not, go to the bottom of the Kuid Table, and add another line "332 <kuid2:156765:101178:1>".

If you downloaded the pack "simulatortrain_track.cdp, you should have <kuid2:156765:101178:1> in it. Outside of that, I have no idea what the problem is. Let me know if you were able to get the kuid.

The KUID i have is <kuid:156765:101178>, not <kuid2:156765:101178:1>. I will try changing the KUID.

I just did a Google search for that kuid. It may have been updated prior to July 6th when I downloaded the ST 100# JointedRail Track pack. What I don't understand is why you are not getting the kuid2 version when you download from the Jointed Rail link on the Murrysville & Western route page. I just downloaded the pack again and all 12 ST 100# tracks are kuid2 versions.

Here's another suggestion. Go into CMP and delete kuid:156765:101178. Then download the pack again from the link on the route page. It has the updated version (kuid2:156765:101178:1). See if that works. I'll be available tomorrow afternoon, when we can continue attempting to solve the problem.
