Multiple Industry Tracks not working anymore

I can't add queues to the mutiple industry tracks, whenever I try to I click add queue and the box comes up but nothing is in it and when I hover my mouse over the search box it says: !! THIS DESCRIPTION NEEDS SETTING !!
How do I fix this, it wasn't happening before, now when I finally learn how to set them up.

Try moving your pointer more toward the midpoint of the multiple industry track before clicking. This sometimes will correct the problem.

If you have more than a certain number of faulty products it will be blank. Check all your products in CMP and correct or delete faulty ones.

From memory, having any products that are faulty or missing dependencies, or having the Rusty Rebar product installed, will cause this issue.

Yes. Go into CM and set your search criteria to Installed and Category - Commodity.

These two search criteria will give you all of your products.

The filter will only give you the products having a correct or no category-class. Some faulty products disguise as a different category (VL - automobile, As - steam locomotive, OH - person, ...). These are difficult to find.

I know this is an old thread and I have an older version(I have the latest patch though)but I just cant figure this out. I've read previous threads on what to do to fix it and I'm still having the issue. Even before I added new commodities I still had the !! description needs setting !! and queues list was and still is empty. Its really bugging me and I'd like to use more than what the multiple industry basic provides. How do I fix this???

I am surprised that N3V has not paid attention to this since it keeps cropping up. What is the limit to the number of commodities allowed in TANE? I have 719. If that is excessive which do I delete? Who knows what commodities a boxcar might be permitted to load. Yes, I know that I can check but I see a good weathered car and I grab it only to find at some later time a load/unload operation does not work due to some commodities situation.

I think that I should probably delete all 719, or those allowed deletion, and then only add the items needed to satisfy my current group of cars. That is ok until someone loads a faulty commodity and I grab it.

Could ever someone solve this? Obviously it is still persistent in TRS19, at least here. A DB repair also didn't lead into success.
I have not any faulty product or missing dependency. Checked this in CM, set CM up to custom search criteria appropriately (installed=true - Category=commodity).

In my case I used the asset "Multi Ind str I=60m EN", which is 'buit in' as CM tells me. It also applies to
"Multi Ind str I=20m EN" and "Multi Ind str I=10m EN". For other 'Multiple Industries'-assets I can't make any statement as they are not part of my route.

Probably all this will fall into deaf ears once more. I have had the problem for very long, since one of the SP's of 09. And I have learn to live with it.

Try this: Install the asset (the MIN with the red arrows) new anywhere, connected or not to tracks. Now open the menus and set ONE commodity, lets say a lumber product from the built in commodities. The go to tracks and you should see it available, click to it and set any variation of load or unload or both. Save and open your route. Verify it is there and the commodity is available. If it works, proceed to populate with one more commodity each time. If the asset fails to operate as expected, contact help desk and inform them: "A built in asset does not work" with all the details.

I have made this asset to work, but the ones with the green arrows, accept only 4 commodities. Try to add another one, and it freezes for good, and you have to re-install. This is not a case of faulty commodity asset: As a draconian solution I deleted ALL the assets/commodities time ago, and then I populated only the ones that could not be deleted because they are built in: Same problem! Sorry if I am blunt about it, but enough is enough, as N3V does not even, ever commented on this World wide recurrent problem.

Thanks for describing your approach on that, llebrez! BTW, I think it will be better to take a virtual flight to Avalon, Catalina Island, instead; landing on RWY22, park the Cessna and enjoy life downtown Avalon. <grin>

I can confirm that the red arrowed 'MIN' does work.

I also noticed some weird text (I guess it's hungarian language) when the empty dialogue box pops up in the 'TRACKS'-tab.
When they do not work - I'm talking about the green arrowed industries only - as stated/confirmed by a bunch of users, why do they remain unchanged as buit-in stuff?

I also have a lot of routes/track-plans that make use of the green arrowed industries, so exchanging them doesn't really work because of the different length of rails.

Nonetheless I really _DO HOPE_ N3V will rollout a correction as it is buit-in stuff.

To add spice, someone, on another related thread, suggested to change the config file on these not working MIN's for the text of the red arrows asset. Did not try this yet. To me is like going around the block when you can cross the street... The satisfaction of loading, moving and manipulating commodities is a large percentage of Trainz operations, yet, as we can see it is neglected by N3V.
