multiplayer error message: the selected session cannot...

Eep, I try to host a game after uploading all content up to DLS. I tried to make sure I didn't include any assets in my session that weren't built in to TS12. Yet I keep getting this message. And absolutely nowhere to look up what it means, and what I should be fixing to correct for it. Here is the message
the selected session cannot currently be used for multiplayer. the route, the session or some dependencies have been locally modified and an attempt to revert them has failed...

I made sure I never changed the Route or session files after uploading it to DLS. I have no idea what to do

Hi --

I was trying to run my multiplayer session for "DowntownTractionCo TS12" last night and kept on getting that message too.

All dependencies were on the DLS and present and correct. There were no missing updates.

This morning it's working. Must have been a problem at N3V's end.

Phil

Hmm, ok , how did you get your map to work.
I mean the only thing I could do to get multiplayer is add the multiplayer rule...
I just tried downloading it all from DLS to see if that worked. But no luck...

I know I can play other multiplayer maps like mojave .. What does it want me to do.. the problem is not on my end then. do you think phil? Since you got same message....

HELPPPPPPPPPP!!!!:o

Does this help?

Hi LIneAxe --

For a multiplayer session, ALL the content has to be either built-in or from the Download Station.

Question - does this apply to your session?

If you have not uploaded the session to the DLS and then downloaded it you will get the error message.

Phil

I down loaded a route and session and got no missing dependences,no errors, or warnning! but when i try to open the session i got that massenage.went back to CM went to view dependence view dependence. There is where i found broking dependences put each into DLH and it cleared up everything and i was able to run session.
Just what happen to me mabe it happening to you.??

I have downloaded my session and route from DLS. Strangely enough, the message has changed to a missing dependencies message now. This may have been caused by my redownloading it from DLS. I just looked up my Asset dependencies in CM. The asset dependencies window says at the bottom
0 broken, 0 missing dependencies, 0 broken dependencies, 0 on Downloadstation, 0 unknown,
Heh what that tells me so far is zilch. :p Auran, if your software gives out a message that says it won't run because of missing dependencies, and then your other software says that there are 0 missing dependencies in the files, what do you want us developers to do with that information? It makes it very difficult for us to do something that should be simpler , like building up multiplayer maps.

When all esle fails, try an Extended Data Base Repair.

Have a coffee while it does it - it might take some time depending on how much material you have installed from the DLS and other sites.

I have finished the extensive database repair. I noted that just before doing it , I got the first message back again. The one that says
the selected session cannot currently be used for multiplayer. the route, the session or some dependencies have been locally modified and an attempt to revert them has failed...
. I then performed the database repair, and did a test . I still have the same message... I must admit, I thank you all for coming up with ideas on what it might be. It is kinda frustrating not being able to test anything.

I am havingthe same problem. I created a new route and a mutli-player session using only items that are built-in or that are on the DLS. I get this error:

The Session, route or some dependencies are not built-in and are not available on the DLS.

I took a look at the jetlog file, but it was of no help. It seems that if Trainz has made this assesment, the least it coud do as dump those "defective" asset kuid's in a file somewhere so we could find them. I have done a search for every dependency in both route and session and find that ALL are available on the DLS.

N3V - if you are serious about multi-player, we could use some help here.

David

By looking on the forums, I see that there are others that are getting this same screen of info. There clearly is something wrong here, and it can't be fixed by the content creators.
Hmm , I wonder if I should maybe let N3V know I have been coding in directx off and on for quite a while, and also now coding now using XBOX 360 Code. I really hate going back to using C++ , but I do it anyhow.(Actually I liked using assembler until HLSL came out ) I also prefer perl and C# and PHP and Java and .... . Anyhow to make it short, maybe I can help them trace this problem down.

SOLVED

The problem on my end was. I was archiving my routes and sessions. and when I went to try to play multiplayer, DLS would not send me their copy of my route/session. So I had to go into edit settings to get rid of the archived route/session. I could then download it from DLS and everything worked. The point is , NEVER ARCHIVE anything you want to play multiplayer. ;)

HeeHeeHee : "...If you have not uploaded the session to the DLS and then downloaded it you will get the error message..."
I get the message while trying to upload my session.
(if you are having trouble with your email, please email a help request to the IT service desk...)

In my example, I opened Content Manager, Searched out my session and right clicked on it. I selected "View Dependencies". This opens a window listing all of the stuff in the session. At the bottom of the list window, is the "View In Main List" button. This sends all of the assets into the main list, where I can look at the icons next to each asset to find the problem.

In this case, my route was the Non DLS content...Makes sense to me, can't upload a session, if the route has not been uploaded.

Since I made some edits in the session, that should have been made to the route, I am going to rework the route and session, before I try again.
Thanks to previous posters, and I hope this helps a little.
