John, thanks for the info. I fooled around with various settings and I still can't get to work. Not a big deal. Maybe I'll come back to it but I want to move ahead. The item I worked on was Plasser and Theurer MoW Track Grinder.

description "Plasser & Theurer Tamper. A ballast tamper or tamping machine is a machine used to pack (or tamp) the track ballast under railway tracks to make the tracks more durable. Prior to the introduction of mechanical tampers, this task was done by manual labour with the help of beaters. As well as being faster, more accurate, more efficient and less labour-intensive, tamping machines are essential for the use of concrete sleepers since they are too heavy (usually over 250 kg (551 lb) to be packed into the ballast by hand. This is an update of the original plasser 1 tamper by Alien3 which was faulty in TRS2010 and had no shadow and could not be used because of these problems. I have repaired all of this. All credit should be given to Alien3 for a truly great piece of maintenance of way content!"

kuid <kuid:124863:100851>
John, sorry if I'm a little dense but bear with me. I understand everything you did except the kuid: 124863:100851. The 124863 is you user number but what is the 100851? Should I be using my user number in place of yours. I'm getting the error message that it's the wrong kuid. My user number is 73492. Thanks.

Because sometimes you waqnt the appearance of a large number of items (for example, locomotives) in a service yard without the CPU overhead of dealing with active items. For example, I created a large number of UP locos I wanted to have appear in a loco rebuild yard, but didn't want them showing up with Trainz having to continuously calculate theor positions and actions, when there would never be any.Why on earth would anyone want to make a locomotive/railcar into a static asset ?
Some old stuff in my inventory will be perfect for Static duty here and there, great idea on Roundhouses with Static Engines......
