Moving On

Now that I've successfully completed my very first somewhat quality route I think it's time to call it quits. Won't do anymore screenshots, testing or showing off my route in session mode due to the fact of my computer being so outdated and even if I make upgrades to the computer, it'll still fall short of processor minimum requirements and RAM still won't be enough. The highest speed for my processor can be 3.1 GHz which is .3 below and considering I might need more speed to due the fact of recording and other things that occupy my PC. Plus even if I get more RAM, it'll only read 3-3.5 GB of RAM and I have 4 slots 1GB Capacity each.

So sorry if I'm not around as much as I used to and as much as you people are accustomed to. I'll drop in a say a few things and probably make a few threads in the suggestion boxcar and other things here and there but I won't be making any routes and I certainly won't be doing any sessions. Don't know when I'll be back in full force or if I'll ever be but it won't be until next year, if at all. So whatever questions, comments, suggestions, complaints, etc should be expunged now because no telling how often I'll be on here. And if you have any yakking off to do about the dependencies, PM me ASAP because once October 1 rolls around, I won't be on here for 2+ months. So time is of the essence so get on top of it.

One more note: Rate my previous route here on a scale of 1-10. And also I'd like to here some feedback in general about me. PM or public I don't care. Just a way to better my relationship here on the forums since I've had multiple run-ins on here.

What the hell are you rambling about?

Your computer specs are great and you have enough room for 4GB of RAM. That's a great amount and a 3.1GHz processor is amazing. If you feel that way about your current computer you'd have quit at life on my 2007 Compaq with 2GB of RAM (overclocked) and 2.8GHz Intel Pentinum D processor.

Seriously, there's no reason to "move on" when your fine where you are? The only operating system that is outdated is XP. Vista is just now coming up to be the next off-the-spectrum OS. If your running Win7... your fine.

You've done ONE route, and your quitting? Come on, you can't be serious. This is only the beginning. If your upset because of your routes not being up to par... well it is your FIRST route. Secondly, your computer is just fine. If you expect the best from everything your only going to be let down.

Now, hush about leaving because your just beginning and I rate you a solid 5.9. There. You have been rated. Would a 1 have made you feel better or a 10? Numbers should never be used to describe someone. It's terrible enough we are rated by numbers in school and real life.

So, get back to making your next route. I'll talk to you on Skype if you need any help with Trainz.

Oh, and for the love of all that is good, stop talking down your computer. It's a great machine. I'd take it if you don't want it.

I didn't say I was quitting. Just doing other things that are much more important than Trainz. Besides my computer can barley run sessions in TS12 without lagging. Plus when I use JetOpenGL it is really slow at times and freezes and crashes in both surveyor and session especially when using Bandicam. So trust me, you don't want my computer. And that's not even the main issue here. You guys obviously didn't read my thread on being enlisted into the US Army.

Well, no I didn't even see that thread on the page when I posted. OpenGL isn't usually what computers like, DirectX is what works for me.

Cheers,
Joshua

Kris, I wouldn't worry about how people "rate" you, or your route. Your route you can always check on how many times it's been downloaded, maybe keep that in mind while you are at boot camp, and then check it after you get out, that will give you at least one thing to think about while you are sweating. As far as rating you as a person, is this a "Facebook" thing? Who cares how many electronic friends you have, or don't? Just believe in yourself, and value your relationship with real friends. I've been here quite awhile now, but that doesn't mean that everyone, or even anyone "likes" me, and I couldn't care less either way.

As Popeye would say, "I ams what I ams!"

I can't do diddly squat while I'm there. It's lock down 24/7. The only means of communication to the outside world is a prepaid phone and card. That's it and there's no internet.

I realize that, it's a tough few months, but I'm sure you'll make it through, and be a better person for doing so.

Yo Kris

You're headed in the right direction. Soon, those route approvals won't mean much, but like Ed said, check the number of downloads. Whatever happens there, no biggie. We all build routes for ourselves, but whatever the results, at least you made a route.

Cheers and Good Luck :)

AJ

Good Luck in your endeavors!

I'm sure that you will be back in no time -- there where moments when I left for almost a year, and came back -- it was like I never left! But real life and pc issues do get in the way, and all that is more important then trainz, of course!

Good Lcuk again on your journey, and be safe in the army!
Ish

Hi Kris94.

I have to agree with Ed, AJ and Ish on this. Ok so you will not be able to use Trainz for a while. There is nothing stopping you from putting your ideas on to paper when you have some freetime. Just think of it as planning ahead.
Good luck and be safe.

Yeah, Kris, I've been on here for bloody years and you've made more routes than I have, kiddo. :)

Good luck with your Army duties, now that does deserve a rating of 10/10, far more important than running plastic trains on a computer game.

Cheerz. ex-railwayman.
