Hello guys,
is it possible to move or delete baseboard in the middle of the layout,
example is (# existing baseboard, @ existing baseboard i want to delete)

#######@@######## - this is the present
############### - so i want to delete the middle @@ baseboard and joing the rest togerther

Thank you,
Suren

you can but its not as easy as it sems.
you can delete a board but you cant drag the others up to join .

what you would have to do is back up the original, delete all the boards ( including the one you want to lose) from the left of your @@ and save the rest as layout "a".
then open the original, delete all the boards( again including the one you want to lose ) from the right of your @@ and save the rest as layout "b"

finally you merge "a" and "b"

I hope this make sense :hehe:

cheers

That's exactly the way I've done it. It's too bad there isn't a mode baseboard tool.

One thing to point out though. When deleting the baseboards, make sure you get the floating pieces of roads and track. Sometimes they don't always delete, and you'll end up with pieces out in the middle of nowhere floating in the air.

On many ocassions I've missed them, and when I added new baseboards found little pieces of track and road bit on the new baseboards sometimes buried under mountains if I didn't see them before I raised the landscape up.

Further to John's post - I never delete a board with spline content on it without deleting the splines first, you can get all sorts of crazy spline behaviour from those vagrant bits that get left behind...

In TRS2004 at least it is possible to delete a baseboard in the middle of a layout provided that it is immediately replaced by a blank one, to alter the track layout and scenery etc, if that's what you want to do. In this case it is possible to leave hanging splines in place and they will be on the new board. (I've just tried this to make sure.) A spline crossing the whole board should presumably stay in place although I have not tried this.

Don't forget that after merging, many of your tracks connecting to interactive industries will have become disconnected. You'll have to move the track slpine point slightly to reconnect them.
