Motherboard Question

A buddy of mine gave me a motherboard, an abit KN9 SLI motherboard. But the problem is that it is kind of old not used but the processors used are. Should I still use the motherboard and save some money or save some more up.

The board in question is pretty outdated; AM2 socket and DDR2-800 memory. You could sell it for about 10 bucks on eBay (if anybody wants it) but apart from that you should forget about the board as it is obsolete by today's standards and not worth upgrading.
