Montana Rail Link MP V2 OP-Session's (This aint your daddy's circle burning)

READ FOR FRIDAY JUNE 15TH'S OP-SESSION!

I will be hosting a Friday Session today starting around noon eastern time. But we are going to try some thing new. We have run with a dispatcher before. But this time we will have two dispatchers, and 0 non Trainz related radio communication. This means you only talk on TS if you need to talk to the dispatcher. The two dispatchers will mute each other, so they cant hear what the other one is saying, and they will be given two halves of the railroad. West Dispatch will control all of the line from West end, to West Livingston. East Dispatch will control every thing from East Livingston to Huntley.

ALSO, Id like to try out using track warrant's. Print out a few copies of this: http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb166/Jib228/Track_Warrant.jpg

I will enplane how to fill one out when in Team Speak. Both the dispatcher issuing the warrant and the crew using it must fill one out.

Any and all movement, driving of a train, on the main line must have permission from the dispatcher for that district before proceeding. Any movements in yards don not need permission, unless they they are accessing the main line for any reason or time. Trains stopping to drop off cars, or work an industry must stop and ask permission to work that town. That then a new track warrant would be filled out.

Now I am saying lets make these changes, so we can move more closer to prototypical railroading. And ot get ready for the next version of MRL and how it will be operated.

So here's the deal for this Fridays Session. I will not be hosting it for 3 reasons.
1. I am supposed to be getting a new cable modem Friday and will have to set that up. I was supposed to get it months ago, but Comcast never sent it. Even though they billed us for it.
2. I would really like to get to run UMR for more then 15 min. Yes, I am going to be putting in some millage on UMR.
3. MRLv2.3 is done and should be on the DLS soon. So I want to wait till its been up a day or two before running a session on it.

With that said, starting Sunday I will be hosting a week long session on MRL2.3. I will be running and paying attention this session unlike the last time I did one. BUT, I will be making it a private session, meaning you'll need to get the password from me or some one else. (Ill name them in the session info when I post it.) There a few people who I have seen on MRL and UMR who are less then welcome. Not to discourage any one else from the session, just a few people come in and treat a full blown railroad operation as toy trains. And none of us really want that.

But for the love of trains DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME ON THE FORUMS. I hardly ever read them and all most never reply. If you need the pass word to the up coming session, ask on Team Speak or ask me in game.

It's there... I just downloaded it. You may need to work at it a little though.
Drag the current v2 into your download helper window and let it update. Once you see the little update box click download. Do that for both the route and the session.
MRL 2.3 is now on the DLS but CM isn't downloading it. :(

Downloading now. It just appeared in CM.

EDIT
My plan to have it download through the night failed. My CP went into sleep mode and downloading stopped. I don't have a 1st Class Ticket so this will take a long time and hopefully I can be done in time for Sunday.

Beattie Construction? Vincent's Goods? C'mon, seriously?

Clearly you have never been to any model railroads.

Its often that towns or industries will be named after people who help work on the layout. Like at the museum we have a farm that we call Price Farm after James Price who built the area.

id love to join in on your sessions jib but i cant download all the deps the sessions look prototypical is it possible for someone to send me the route and all dependencies?

I am actually a member in a model railroad club, but we don't name things after contributors. I thought you were just messing around when you did that or you needed names for industries because you ran out of ideas. That is a pretty good idea though. Will recommend it to the guys at the club.

Most clubs I am a member of do. The Museum has one town name of St Joseph. The sad story of how it got its name though. Before I started there a name by the name of Joseph past away working under where the town is.

One of the Depots is named after our head electrician. The main yard that I work most of the time is named after one of our main track builders. There is a whole Junction named after a master modeller who built the whole junction. And I have laid claim to a yet unbuilt industrial area.

Just download it like we all do?
That thing is hundreds of MB's. You think someone is going to mail that? Plus of a lot of assets on the DLS it is illegal to destribute them outside of the DLS.
Add to that the fact that installing them makes them marked as "locally modified" which aint allowed for multiplayer.

All dependencies are on the Download Station. Auran has made it imposable to play in multiplayer mode using 3rd party items / assets. You will need to go through the route one asset at a time.
First thing you need to do is, in Content Manager, drag the session and route to the "Download Helper" and let CM (Content Manager) try to find the missing dependencies.
After that has completed, again in Content Manager, click on the session and click on "View Dependencies", that should give you a list of how many are missing. There is also a box at the lower right corner that says "View in main window" or something to that effect.

Now you will need to drag each asset that is missing dependencies to the "Download Helper" and again let CM find the missing items. After you have done that you should do an "Extended Database Repair" just to be sure everything is where it needs to be.

If anyone is still having trouble getting MRL MP V2.3 up and running I will help you out as best as I can.
I am usually on the TeamSpeak channel (108.91.138.12)

If I did that, Id mail them to you....on floppy disks.

But in other news, I am bumping the start time for the session to Monday afternoon. I have to work odd ours on Sunday and figured it would be easier to start the session on Monday. Also, I need to test out my new network setting a bit more.

Also, the railroad should be divided into 3 parts. Each of the main yards will service one part of the railroad. Every thing from Helena to Logan, and the Great Falls Branch is handled by Helena yard. From Logan to Columbus is Livingston. And from Columbus to Huntley is Billings/Laurel. This means if your in Billings and you have a car of auto parts that needs to go to Trident, that car would have to be put on a transfer run from Billings to Livingston, then from Livingston to Helena, then on a local down to Trident.
If you are a local out of a yard to work a town or set of towns, you come back to the yard you left.
We don't have to follow this 100%, but just a note for those who are working a yard or locals.

Can't wait! This is going to be awesome. I haven't finished downloading yet but I hope that RS3 is in Helena/Great Falls.

Thanks for implementing some Great Northern locomotives (or loco, have one downloaded, don't know if there are 2 in MRL) Jib. I saw the GN RS3 in the dependency list and I think I probably became the happiest railroader in MRL.
