Montana Rail Link MP V2 OP-Session's (This aint your daddy's circle burning)

I am now starting a session of 2.9d which I hope to run until Jib,s session starts on friday . I will also be on Teamspeak. Because of work commitments I will not be on much until tomorrow so don,t derail anything in my absence and keep the power stations supplied please.

People are joining my session but the game keeps crashing fpr them and I have no idea why. I wonder if it is the re-rail Portal. I,ll restart and see what happens. (No pun intended when I said "crashing" and "re-rail Portal". I wonder if it happens as soon as Re-Rail Portal produces a train

Yes exactly. It crashed 2 times whilst I was on yesterday. Try again maybe..

I restarted it and it was fine until a little while ago when a regular player crashed twice. I,m leaving it open for a while to see what happens to other players that try to join. I,m now considering the possibility of uploading a new version with the faulty NW Boxcars removed and closing the Re-rail Portal, either of which may be the cause. If it,s neither then I,m out of ideas.

again I crashed
I was driving the amtrak from end of line to Helena station, no problem
then driving the conrail coal train, filling up powerstation, no problem
as soon as i choose the santa fe in Laurel, the game crashed
So it is clear to me that the problem is somewhere in the santa fe loco's or the cars atached to it, or maybe the driver in it.
A couple of days ago, in version 2.9C, I also had problems with that same consist with the santa fe's in front.
I don't think that the re-rail portal causes this problem, as the portal was working fine a few hours before.

greetings

Your comments have been noted Mel and has given me an insight into where it is going wrong. This sugests it is something in the Laurel Area which could be any number of things. I feel further testing is needed to narrow it down. As a first step is either to change the driver or move the train.

Might be on his end. If he has a lower spec computer that might cause the crashing. My old computer would do that if I tried to jump from one end of the railroad to a yard.

I am using a 2 month old high end computer, so that can not be the problem, it runs also on my old computer
intel I7, 8 Gig RAM, 2 Gig videocard (not shared)

I can join at whatever time I please that day (hopefully). I can be Helena dispatch if you need it as well.

Also, I saw one of your latest uploads in content manager and immediately downloaded it.............only to find out it has unknown dependencies. No MP sessions for that loco I guess. :(

Ok GN, I'll give you one of the switchers in Helena and let you run that yard. You'll be in charge of making up manifest, locals, and a branch line train.

As for the locomotive, I am sorting that out and it should be ready some time soon.

Reminder guys, that I will be hosting a session tomorrow, but you must pick a job now now. I will be assigning drivers and locomotives to players. So unless you have read this, and picked a job, you may not get assigned any thing. In other words, no walk-ins.

Here's what has been taken:
Livingston Yard Crew - Me
Helena Yard Crew - GN1996
Billings Local Crew - Colourlight (I am assigning him this job as he said hed take any thing)
Billings Yard Crew - Vonhammer_87

Jobs that are still open:
Greatfalls branch line crew (Works Greatfalls)
Livingston Local Crew (Works all industries from Logan to Columbus)
Helena Local Crew (Works all industries from Helena to Logan)
Manifest crew's (Run trains from main yard to main yard)

Might have a few people form another web site that will be joining. They too are supposed to read this and sign up there. As well for my crews, you are not expected to be there at 1 when I start the session, nor do I expect you to stay all day. I'd like to see you all show up, have fun, and feel free to take breaks at any time.

Hi Jib, I have noted your post. I have an early shift tomorrow so if I have the time difference correct I,ll be joiing about 2 pm for a couple of hours taking a break then maybe another hour or so later.

The session for Friday was canceled due to sever issues. If I host another session next Friday I'll post details.
