There is a thread in the TRS2006 forum named Monorail Information that contains all the information you're looking for, including what to look for to download the monorail from the DLS, where to get the Release Notes that contain all the detail instructions you need (and then some), etc.
Everything except the fixed track junctions will run in TRS2004 as well as in TRS2006. If anyone has information on how to download into TRS2004, I'd appreciate knowing about it (the TRS2006 components keep grabbing the downloads an installing them in 06 if you have both, as I do).
I have updated the animated junction kits recently to see if the current ones would solve a problem reported by only three people, but that's enough to indicate an actual problem instead of a user error. Several other improvements have been uploaded to the DLS, which is where you should go to get all things monorail.
