Model Railway

I am running Trainz 12, and although the simulator is fantastic to be sure, I was wondering if there are model railway layouts that are available to download?
I used to have a model layout (HO scale) in my younger years, and I was hoping to get back into the hobby using this simulator as I am unable to create the real thing because of eyesight and space limitations.
I do enjoy running the simulator, but often just want to run trains for an hour or two, and not have to sit through a three session just to go from one terminal to the other, or sit and just watch the consists meander through endless countryside to just get from from station to the next.
I am not very computer literate or capable of creating routes from scratch. (I have tried, but the end results were woefully pathetic....)
Thankyou in advance for any input you may have

1. Go to the Download Station: http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php.
2. Check all the boxes that list the various versions of Trainz
3. Change 'Title' to 'Description'
4. In the 'Text Search', type in 'model'.
5. Select 'Layouts' as the category
6. Click 'Search
This would provide a wide variety of Model Railroadz, as they're called in Trainz.

jfs2011,

in response to part of your original post, namely

I am not ... capable of creating routes from scratch. (I have tried, but the end results were woefully pathetic....)

all I can say is if you pick even the most adept route creators in Trainz, and were able to look at their first efforts, the same statement would apply. I know they apply to my first efforts, but you can't look at them, because I trashed them long ago. If you keep at trying to create routes, you'll find that the results are less pathetic with each attempt.

There are a few of us in the UK interested in what I call Virtual Model Railways (perhaps I should say Railwayz?) but I know of only one which so far is on the Download Station, Westwold by itareus ( KUID 243828:100430, C+ 14 Westwold RC1).

Both itareus and I have made large-scale artefacts to turn one or more baseboards into a model railway room and these might be of interest to anyone creating a model layout set in countries other than the UK.

Westwold is illustrated on itareus's website, and my work is described on my website (click on the link in my signature).

Unfortunately I have not yet completed a Virtual Model Railway so nothing on the DLS - but I have dabbled, starting a few to try different scenic effects. There are screenshots of work by both of us in the Screenshots Forum.

i have two Model Railroadz on my site that work well in TS12. They are the Gorre & Daphetid, and the Murrysville & Western, one with eleven baseboards, and the other with twelve. Click on my sig below, and you'll find them in the route menu under Model Railroadz.

Many thanks to all who have replied. I was able to find a great little layout so I can now enjoy the old hobby in a new format!

All I get when I download it is some scrambled code and text, Thank you
Seeing that your highest version registered is TS2009 you might be wasting your time because of this:
It also only works in TS2010, and TS12.
If you have higher versions of the game, register them to your account. If you already did that, contact the helpdesk to get your forum display fixed.

I have this problem downloading my own routes in Firefox from time to time. I usually try a different browser like Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome.
