Missing Websites

And on that bombshell...
Hello Trainz Community.

I have noticed on my search for quality content on my soon-to-be-non-supported copy of TRS2006, that some websites which reportedly have excellent Trainz content have closed down. This is a shame because I can think of no reason for someone to be forced to close down an entire website.

I have gathered a list of the webpages I know have disappeared from existence. Feel free to add to it if you wish.

www.obi1knobby.co.uk
www.skodatrainz.com (or maybe .co.uk, not sure)
www.crazysheepcreations.com

Understand these are defunctional websites and none of these links will work. We should work towards trying to get these websites back online, because it is shameful to put to waste such excellent content.

Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.

Hi Scott.

What can we do to help get these sites back up?

I've not seen them before, but I'm contantly seeking out new sources ready to fill the gap post September. I'd be happy to support any effort to sustain sites with good reliable content.

My bookmark file has a folder marked, "Alternative DLS", which has just 10 sites so far where I've found and downloaded really good stuff - mostly from recommendations from other community members. Unfortunately I cannot now find the thread/s which led me to most of them.

If someone can post a link I'd be grateful.

Happy Trainzing.

Cheers
Casper

Have you looked at the Trainz Resources Directory for active web sites? It lists 151 Trainz Community web sites at present. All were active the last time I checked. The missing ones are either new sites that haven't been listed yet, or sites with no content.

Please not that web site owners never tell me when they create a new site, most don't tell me when they move, so I hardly expect anyone to tell me if they're closing down.

I can't even get them to sign up for the webring.

John,
I just sent you a message via the Contact Us link on the Trainz Resources Directory about me moving site :p (three months late, but close enough)

Phil

I got it Phil, I'll update the listing as soon as I can.

Hopefully others will give me updates also.

Regards,

John
