Missing Track

I just downloaded the Durangoslvrtn_Freeware layout by Sek_Hakuna and there is no track appearing. I researched the missing dependencies and none are track or they cannot be found in http://www.trainzkuidindex.com/

If anyone has successfully installed this layout can you please look up what track is being used and let me know. I looked in the forums and a post said the track is made by Pencil42 so I downloaded all of his track and I still see dotted lines.

Any assistance will be appreciated as Id really like to use this one.

Thank you in advance,

Bill

Hi Bill,

If there are no missing dependencies, then the asset maybe faulty. You need to check for faulty assets in Content Manager and repair the asset before it will show up in-game. The white dotted line splines are the way track and missing/broken splines are represented.

I'll ask again if anyone has this layout installed and useable. Could you please open it and find out what track asset is used and report back here. I don't want to have to delete the route and 1GB of assets just because the track is missing. After the months of work they do, it's too bad authors cant provide a list the of freeware assets used and where to locate them. This will be the 4th layout I've downloaded then have had to delete due to critical missing freeware assets that cant be located.

Or how about changing it so when you click the 'Find' tool on a dotted line (spline), it gives you the missing KUID. That would help immensely in the look-up process.

I'm checking the route now...

There's a newer version by Termin. Did you look at that one instead, which might be updated?

John

G'day, try "Durangoslvrtn_Freeware-2 <kuid:486747:100162>" by termin, it is on the DLS along with the session.

I have an update...

I attempted to download that route and there is a ton of missing dependencies. I recognized some of the KUIDs as belonging to Neokli, among others including Pofig (trees). I spent a goodly amount of time tracing stuff all over the globe, mostly in Russia, and gave up. That said, the route maybe freeware, and yes the content maybe freeware, but most of it is freely available all over the place including the track I couldn't find.

Termin did create a session for the route, which is dated September 2013 if this helps, but you are correct, the track would still be missing, which it is in my download.

Hi Bill,
to replace the dotted lines in the layout you need 'Missing Splines, kuid:523:1124'. Use it in Replace Assets.
I think from memory you have to go into the config and change the Privileges setting of it to be able to see it in the surveyor window.
Cheers,
Mike

Wow thanks Mike, I have a direction now. I do have the missing Spline in my CM.
I found the privileges info at the bottom of the config file.

I changed the Zero to a 1 but Trainz tells me "Error: Not authorized to commit changes to asset <kuid:523:1124>"

ARGH

Don't despair Bill I beat them at their own game.
This what you do.
Create a new folder on your desktop and call it Missing Spline.
Next go into CM and locate Missing Spline that you already have.
Open in Explorer and copy all the files from it, into your folder on the desktop.
Next open the new config and make the change to Privileges and also change the kuid to <kuid2:523:1124:1>
Now go back into CM and import the folder.
Once it is in you nasty missing spline will be asleep and a new one is ready to work.
The only hassle will be when N3V update that file, you will need to do it again. One way to stop that would be to use a much higher version number.
I have used this method a number of times.
Cheers,
Mike

OMG it worked!!! I have track now.

Thank you so very much Mike. Such a wonderful option.

Now to replace all the "Ultra Trees" so I can use the route without all the stuttering.

Have a great day and thanks again,

Bill
