Missing / Re-appearing Locos after SP1 upgrade

This happened after upgrading to SP1 then Hotfixes 1 and 2, but I don't know exactly which change caused this problem.

It's a simple route with several short sections of track and a few locos

After the upgrades and hotfixes there were places where all I have on the track are overlapping red and green arrows - there should be a locomotive there, but it's missing. I can't remove it.

I cloned the route and deleted everything I could, intending to see what locos remainded - they would be the 'missing' ones. While doing that I discovered two of the visible locos could not be deleted. I thought that might be a layers issues, and in the process of investigating that I discovered that if I hide then unhide the default route layer the 'missing' locos are gone and the two undeletable ones are also gone.

That happened in the clone, so I went back to the original, and that's different. If I hide the default route layer, all locos and track disappear, but when I unhide it none of the locos returns.

Then it gets weirder. If I hide then unhide the default session layer, the locos reappear!

I thought it might be route issue, so I tried another route that I knew had rolling stock in the default route layer and it's the same - hide and unhide the default route layer and the rolling stock is gone, hide and unhide the session layer and the rolling stock re-appears. In fact, hide and then unhide any other layer (route or session) and the rolling stock reappears.

SO, I go back to the clone that has only the 'missing' and undeletable locos, and they have reappeared! I can't get them to show again after fiddling with layers, but they will reappear if I exit and re-start Surveyor.

So there's clearly a bug in the layer hiding and unhiding.

But right now my problem is the iocos that look OK in CMP and list properly in Surveyor but show only as two overlapping arrows when placed in a route. The ones that I have discovered so far that appear as arrows only, no image, include:

I know some of them are old, but surely anything bult-in should work properly.

Did you turn OFF the antivirus before you began SP1 upgrade?

Did you turn OFF the antivirus before you began SP1 upgrade?

All antivirus and system monitoring (like the indexer) were turned off before running the upgrade. Each upgrade ran without errors after I pointed the patcher to the correct folder. The SP1 upgrade took a few hours, and I had to do a full database repair afterwards. The hofixes took a few moments, and I have done a quick repair of the database since then, but only because of this problem. I do not have any other problems with either SP1 or the hotfixes that hasn't been mentioned here as a known issue.

pdkoester - The items are built-in and are in some cases from DLC and so will not appear on the DLS.

BuilderBob - I do not know why they do not show up but the way to get rid of them is to add another vehicle to the two close arrows then go to the consist tab and delete the resulting consist.

Good idea, but no joy. I can add another vehicle but it does not seem to connect to the invisible one - I can move it back and forth freely and the double arrow doesn't respond. I can delete the new one and the invisible one remains.

I discovered that if I add one of the invisible locos I can then delete it - it's just very difficult to find the exact point to click on. So that made me think that the existing ones could be deleted if I could just find the right spot, but no success so far despite a lot of clicking.

Removing the kuid from the route config had no effect, as expected. Exporting to CDP and re-importing had no effect.

It now appears that the two visible locos I can't remove are part of a consist with two invisible locos (CNR FP9A/CNR F9B and CNR F7A/CNR F7B).

I just took a clean 49922 build, applied SP1 and the two hotfixes, then downloaded Murchison 2 and the loco CP 8654 GP9 that is used in the 'ore barge' session is invisible.

There's a number of locos that become invisible in the Mojave Sub route in build 57898, and the creator (norfolksouthern37) needs to resolve that problem. I cannot view any specific errors as the locomotives are locked to editing and cloning and all errors and warnings are suppressed. I can see the config, but file errors escape me.

If you check for errors in Content Manager, you'll see why they are invisible. This is due mostly to missing thumbnails. Go to the JR website and download any updates to the freeware locomotives they have. The latest versions should take care of this. I did it myself and have had no errors that you have right now.

I totally agree with what you are saying ... I think this is similar to the problem with the assets noted in post #528 in the TS12 SP1 Bugs Thread (Page 36). I have noticed that some (definitely not all) of the assets listed in that post now work again.

For example: these two became visible again after Hotfix 2:

BR ZHV Mineral Wagon Loaded <kuid:-1:101229>
BR ZHV Mineral Wagon <kuid:-1:100763>

Unfortunately we might have to wait for the next update to get the rest (or even just some more) of them working properly again.
