Missing kuids

I was able to download the Searchlight Signals for TRS2004(from USLW.net) but I also need to find the compatible versions of the JR SafeTran Signals pack plus deps for TRS2004\2006.Do they still exist as I would like to download them? I had downloaded the latest versions of the JR SafeTrans Signals pack and as expected the signals don't load in TRS04 as I get the script error message.I can get the gantries from the pack to load but that is it. :(

Also I am missing the following kuids and yes I have done a search at the site but no luck on finding the following items:

<KUID2:45324:24000:1>
<KUID2:45324:24001:1>
<KUID2:45324:24002:1>
<KUID2:45324:24003:1>

<KUID2:45324:24004:1>
<KUID2:45324:24005:1>
<KUID2:45324:24006:1>
<KUID2:45324:24007:1>
<KUID2:45324:24010:1>

<KUID2:45324:24100:1>
<KUID2:45324:26000:1>
<KUID2:45324:26001:1>
<KUID2:45324:26002:1>
<KUID2:45324:26003:1>
<KUID2:45324:38003:2>

<kuid2:45324:10104:1>
<kuid2:45324:10101:1>
<kuid2:45324:10103:1>
<kuid2:45324:28100:1>
<kuid2:45324:50022:2>
<KUID:45324:38001> .

Can anyone please help me with telling me what kuid is what at the JR site so I can download the right ones and maybe tag each one for other people to use in future.

Thanks

Richard.

Hi Richard,

We no longer support anything below TRS 2009. These signals do not work and are not supported for those versions below 09.

Thanks.

Mike

Would it be possible for someone with the TRS2004 compatible copy of the JR SafeTran Signals plus deps to host it somewhere with JR's permission for people like me who would like to be able to use their downloaded routes fully?

Thanks.

Thanks but I have that and I get script errors with it in TRS2004. Will update the first post to avoid confusion.Plus I have no FCT so no DLS access. :@ :(

2004 and 2006 will not handle the scripting these signals have so you will simply not be able to use them, backdated in the config or not. You must be at TS 2009 SP4 or above.

I understand that but there is a route called Clovis sub v2.0\v2.1 which I would like to download but I will need the version of the JR Safetran Signals that were backdated to TRS2004(trainz build 2.4) for use on the route which as that would be fantastic according to the info on the download page for the route.

Would it be possible for that version of the JR Safetran Signals to be distributed from CheckRail's Thirdparty page with a disclaimer and notice of permission has been given for the version of the JR Safetran Signals to hosted there? Please.

Thanks.

From JR, it is not going to happen.

Ok fine I understand and know that the latest version of the JR SafeTran Signals won't work in TRS2004.For the Clovis v2.0\v2.1 route which was made for TRS2004\2006 the SafeTran Signals by NS_37 were made compatible for use in the route in both of those versions of TRS as seen in the many screenshots I have downloaded from CheckRails.com and also needed in the route The Appalachian.That route apparently uses the SafeTran gantry and three or four of the overhead signals attached to the gantries from what I can remember.I just feel it is extremely unfair to users of older versions of TRS2004 by denying them access to the compatible version of the SafeTran Signal plus deps thereby breaking routes until they eventually upgrade to a newer version... BOO! :(Now to the other items I am looking for.Can someone please help me with finding those items with the above kuids that I need for the routes I would like to try and use.I have been scrounging around archived sites hoping to find the items I need for routes and most of the time I find them but unfortunately there are a lot that I have missed out on but there might be a chance that the item\s I need may or may not even be on the DLS if I ever can get a FCT... :( I have managed to download for example all of Trunda's trees,bushes,grass and vineyards(splines) through the two different web addressed archived copies of his\her site.Not sure if there is a new site for Trunda as the actual .cdps are stored on servers which are off-site(but are still up and running) and also were archived as well.... :)Thanks

Those KUIDs are the signals you need. Trouble is once we dropped support for anything below TS09 and added the Signal FX library, that rendered them useless in versions below 2009. Short answer is they will no longer work, and we are not going to do anything to them to make them work. It's just not going to happen, I'm sorry you think it's unfair but it's also unfair to ask us to support a game that has outlived it's support life. We are all about keeping up with changes to TRS and taking full advantage of features to our content. The signal FX and Train FX libraries have allowed us to take advantage of the current features of TRS and expand our offerings. I would suggest upgrading to at least TS2010 as we will be dropping support for 09 here pretty soon too. If you don't want to or can't upgrade there isn't anything we can do to make content work in a version that's now well over 10 years old.

Thanks

Mike

I would strongly suggest upgrading your trainz to 2010 or 12. You can get 2010 fairly cheap now. But with the new trainz coming out towards the end of this year you could simply wait for that, then you would be all caught up. You also can download things with out a FCT its just slower and limited to 100mb a day I believe.

How were the SafeTran Signals fixed to work in the Clovis Sub v2.0\v2.1 Route then?There must have been a special version made for them to work in TRS2004\06 without the Signal FX?Here are 2 quotes from the Clovis Sub Route v2.0\2.1 download page:
SIGNALS (45324 content): The route was built in TRS04 using a set of signals which was at that time available from the DLS. Those signals have since been removed from the DLS. There are updates of the signals available from Jointed Rail, but the TrainzBuild tag on these prohibits their use in Trainz versions below TS10. I have applied a couple of times to the original creator of the signals for permission to distribute the original assets for folks with the older versions of Trainz for which this route was built. I have as yet to receive a reply. Users of TRS10 and up can download the required assets by visiting Jointed Rail, registering and visiting the 'Freeware' pages, but for users of older versions of the sim I am afraid the route is pretty much broken.

and

Signals: Clovis2 is completely re-signalled. The signal script works slightly differently in TRS04, TRS06 and TRS09. Wherever possible the signals have been chosen to show approximately correct aspects in TRS06 - in fact only a couple on the whole route are blatantly 'wrong'. Necessarily however some signals show incorrect aspects in TRS04. Many thanks to Justin Cornell (NorfolkSouthern_37) for his help with the signalling and for backdating his wonderful Safetran Signals to Trainzbuild 2.4 to make it possible to use them on this route.

What happened to that version of the SafeTran Signals? Does anyone have a copy? I am surprised with the TRS community how a lot of the members can simply dump a version of TRS because it is "old" yet in the Unreal community(Unreal Tournament(UT),UT2k3\UT2K4 and UT3) which values the older versions of the Unreal Series and which I have been a member for over 10 years.Unreal Tournament for example came out in 1999 yet has official\unofficial third party DX11 support?

As I have mentioned before I can't run TRS2010EE atm.So no luck there. :(

There is no fix for this at this time, and will not be in the future. The TFX and SFX libraries rendered those signals useless.

Does that mean that anyone who might have a copy of those SafeTran Signals can't host it for people like me to download them for use in the routes we have that need them?

I don't get it at all?That means that Norfolk Southern 37's work was a waste since JR won't allow that version to be available for older versions of TRS and for the users to enjoy in their route that use it.The way I see it is that Auran\N3V asked you not to release\remove the older versions of your items to purposely break routes in older versions in the hope they upgrade to one of the latest version of TRS to be able to use the route and yes that is a valid question I have to ask because it kinda looks like that...

Other communities are happy to provide older files if they can't be found online anymore but not for all map\mod,mutator or custom models that have disappeared though.Still...

BTW the first section of kuids are the safetran kuids and the next two sections are for the whatever else most likely for scenery.The last section of kuids are for the F7A's and B's.

Not true. His work has improved and he has updated this material to take advantage of the current features. We do not support or make our content available for any version below TRS 2009. If the content happens to work that's fine. We will not be updating it to work in any version below TRS 2009. I feel like I'm just repeating myself over and over and over and over and over again.

Simply not true, not even close. Where did you come up with this? The above is called moving on, newer versions are available and since we want to always improve our content offerings we take advantage of new versions. TRS2004 is totally useless to us, it offers nothing in terms of what TS12 does as far as development goes. Again, this is well over a decade old.

Most if not all of our content will not work in versions below TRS2009, see every post above.

I'm sorry that you have 2004. I can't do anything to help you to get our content to work in that version, it's been several years since I have even had that installed. OK it's been about 8 years or so... Either way, long story short is none of our content will work in versions below 2009SP1.

Thanks

Mike

While that maybe true the SafeTan Signals were downgraded by NS_37 to work with TRS2004 afaik because of the Clovis Sub Route v2.0\2.1 when the latest version supported TRS2009 at the same time from what I can determine from post dates.You won't have to update the SafeTran Signals to support TRS2004 as that was done by NS_37 himself in that version of the Signals at the time in 2009.That version should still be available somewhere on someones hdd.I will simply not just accept this and roll over like a good dog.You can repeat that until you are blue in the face!

Bull!In the Unreal Community we have UT3(Unreal Tournament 3) which is the latest version and yes a number of people have moved on to it to map,mod,etc... only but UT2k4 and UT are still played and still mapped,modded,etc... Mods for UT(that came out in 1999 and that was given official\unofficial third party DX11 support sometime last year) are still worked on and upgraded.I am still making\working on my maps and static meshes(scenery) for UT,UT2k4 and UT3.Atm it is a slow process but I'm getting there to finish them...

Almost all the content from JR that I have downloaded works in TRS2004.Sure there some stuff like the custom cab for the freeware Chessie GP50 #50GM that won't load but no worries about that and some trains that can run after some fixing in the config.txt but that is minor stuff since I have no clue on TRS scripting just basic fix scripting and that is it.

The Signal FX library rendered them useless in versions below TS2009 SP1. This is TRAINZ, not that other game you mentioned. We are keeping up with the latest version and we have no plans to change that.

Thanks

Mike
