Missing KUIDs for nice coaches

I downloaded some coaches from the Settle & Carlisle site - brown MK-1s. Only issue is, none of them work. THe reason is, as the title shows, missing KUIDS. I've checked and it seems to be their bogies and interior, but I don't know the names of the files I need to replace them. All I do know is that my research led me to believe I required assets from the Duchess addon pack (which I got yesterday - beautiful models, though they are bad at slowing down).

Assets that are in yellow boxes in CCP are the ones which are missing, right?

<kuid:523:106154>
<kuid2:101839:39:1>
<kuid2:101839:40:1>
<kuid2:523:55696:1>

Can anyone please tell me what they are and if possible give me a download link at all?

On a side note, what order do coaches normally go in? all these letters like 'BCK' 'TSO' etc really confuse me.

They could be part of the Settle & Carlisle add-on. They are certainly sub-dependencies of SnC sessions. After all, the content downloads on the SnC site are meant to be supplements to the commercial add-on. Did you install this?

BR1 Bogie,<kuid:523:106154>
BR Mk1 Interior Compartment,<kuid2:523:55696:40>
Generic Steam Heat bag, coupled,<kuid2:101839:39:3>
Generic Steam Heat bag, uncoupled,<kuid2:101839:40:3>

Well, I never got the addon, so I guess that makes sense.
*groan* now I must convince my dad to pay for another addon.

But to answer your question: no, I haven't installed them as far as I know. But, now I've been able to install the Heat Bags. The first two, the bogie and Interor, don't show up on a KUID search in CM.

Good news for you. You can download BR1 Bogie,<kuid:523:106154> & BR Mk1 Interior Compartment,<kuid2:523:55696:1> from the black pages. Just remember to check the TRS2004 checkbox.

thanks ever so much! (of course...I'd forgot that it doesn't check 2004 bby default). Thanks, really! :)
EDIT: I'm searching with TRS2004 checked, and using the exact KUID (copy-pasted) in a kuid search. Not turning them up.

Check TRS2004, select KUID radio button and paste 523:106154 or 523:55696:1 into the Text Search box. They come up alright when I search them.

no such luck for myself, unfortunately. I have checked 2004, I have selected KUID for my search and i have copy-pasted them, yet search says 'NO DOWNLOADS FOUND'. This is getting annoying...

Now, dat's weird! :confused:

Maybe, maybe not - just tried it myself (with various search combinations) and the DLS won't play ball. The only obvious difference is that you have TS12 whilst the OP and myself have only earlier versions and I believe that all the 523:xxx assets are older built ins (by Auran). - so TS12 owners have access to them on the DLS, other users with earlier versions may not have.

lugia61617 - keep working on your dad, we all crack under enough pressure ! The S&C add on is well worth the money for all the extra bits.

Good luck !

Hmmm, the 523.xxx assets have a TRS2004 tag, so you would expect them to be available to all users with a TRS2004+ version. And they are sub-sub-dependencies of SnC sessions, which should run in all TS09+ versions. You may be right, that I can search them out on DLS because I have TS12. A lot of old content was dropped in TS12, but should supposedly be available on the DLS. It's not because of SnC I can find them, since I never registered SnC.

I agree with itareus; keep pestering your dad - you won't regret it, if he bows to the pressure. A bit of greasing up usually helps too :)

I don't need to pester - he's a generous man. and 20 AUD isn't too much, especially converted into GBP. I'll get S&C now anyway - it's definitely got my interest.

heeey....are any of you good route creators, while I'm at it? I'm working on one and I'm quite bad at it myself.

Somehow I can believe that even at a mere guess. So far my route has a starting station, two tunnels and a dock, but I'm bad at coming up with new ideas and lose motivation when I realise I hate making dips and height increases on the track.

Well it certainly won't do any harm, especially because I'm going to suggest he spend even more money on you (see below).

My main interest in Trainz is in creating routes and sometimes the content to go with them. I have not published anything yet, I'm always finding there is room for improvement and it seems to be the norm that it takes a few years to produce anything worthy of general release.

It has taken me a long while to get to grips with route and content creation properly and I'm still learning, but now I just wish there were 72 hours in each day so that I could do all that I want !

There is a utility called TransDEM Trainz see http://www.rolandziegler.de/StreckeUndLandschaft/transdemTrainz_Engl.htm that creates Trainz base boards with heights etc. from free mapping data.

It's about AUD 30 (depends on exchange rate on the day) for ordering see here http://www.rolandziegler.de/StreckeUndLandschaft/bestellenEngl.htm .

I have only recently purchased this and I have to say it's the best £20 I've spent in a long while. I'm not sure about sources of free mapping (DEM) data for Australia but you could always look on the Transdem forums, the author of the program Dr Roland Ziegler (AKA "Geophil") usually steps in to give good advice. After going through the tutorials I made a Trainz "map" of the Leeds and Bradford area (about 100 square miles - roughly 20 x 20 = 400 Trainz baseboards) including elevation, overlay textures, tiled maps and the track, of which there was lots pre Beeching, roughly laid out in a few hours. Try doing that by hand !

And back to basics, when laying track on hills do you use the "smooth spline tool" and spline heights?
Well having spent your Christmas money I will end here, whatever you do enjoy it ! :wave:

not sure I'm going to go that far...I'll just deal with the tracks for now. that and the occasional crashing which deletes most of my work.
-_-' I have so many things I want to do in Trainz yet I cannot actually do any of them...make my own engines in blender (I've tried. I'm useless at it. I'd need a one-to-one session to help), make decent routes...makes me wonder why I still use it.
