Missing HUD

Hi Guys,

Apologies if this does turn out to be a double post, I may have made a mistake before!

Before you tell me to search for an answer, yes, I have! This ones really annoying me.

When I start a scenario, I sometimes have the HUD. However, even if I do have it, it will disappear either when I select the Cab Mode or when I get to the first station. Pressing F9 will make it disappear but not reappear. I've been trying to find a solution but can't see anything yet. Hopefully the collective will have more of an idea!

Hello Owen,

Seeing this is your first post here, welcome to trainz.
Because there are many, many versions these days it's wise to allways mention your version when asking questions about how things need to be done or events that happen you're not sure about.

Now for the dissappearing HUD, this could very well be because at stations the process of "loading" and "unloading" of passengers kicks in. As with all industry enabled scenery the HUD dissappears during this process and pops up again when finished. The time it takes depends on the kind of industry and the time the creator of the session of the route set for it. So, to try this just wait some time. For passenger stations it could be a few minutes. If it takes very long I would suggest to open up the route and session in Surveyor mode and see what has been set for the duration, but since you're new at this, it is maybe not that easy to check for you.

If the HUD doesn't come back after some time, you better post the version of your version of trainz, so people who use that particular version too can help you further.

Thanks for the reply! I'm running Trainz 2006, sorry about that!

Its not loading passengers, it sometimes will go missing from the start of a scenario.

Any ideas?

Hmm, odd. I've got the same version, but never encountered this problem. You do have service pack 1 (SP1 for short) installed, I presume.

Since you mention specific the word scenario, the only other thing I can think of is that the scenario you're using is for an older version of trainz. I think the last version that used scenario's was ts2004, ts2006 uses a rule system in sessions to accomplish the same. There is however a scenario system develloped by Trainz Pro Routes that functions with 2006. (free registration required)

If it is a specific route and scenario you have this with, post its title here and if possible the creators name so others, more knowledgable then me about 'scenarios', may have a look.

I didn't previously have SP1 but I do now and the problem remains the same.

Ok, so it would appear that I have managed to get the DCC controls to stay on the screen. Now, it would be much appreciated if I could choose between DCC and Cab Control. I've tried searching for a key command but I can't find anything. Is there any way to choose which mode I want at the start of a session?

For the record, I'm running the 1024 pass service on the Waldalbavale line, which usually gives you a choice. However, at the moment I have no choice!
