Missing Dependencies

Hi, I have tried to download a few items for a local quarry scenario that I am building. These include shunter locomotives and hopper / quarry wagons. (See UK Branchlines and LTSV Trainz.)

Many of the objects appear red or pink in the scenario builder screen. When I go to the item in Content Manager it shows "missing dependencies". If I then try to download the missing dependencies I get the message "unable to download 'kuid xxxx.xxxx' Couldn't obtain a download URL, item cannot be found on Download Station"

I read a similar post on here suggesting using Trainzobjectz but this does not seem to support Trainz 2010 and I am reluctant to use it for fear of damaging the existing content.

Can anyone help?

Can you list the dependancies that you are missing. Someone may be able to help you locate them, or it may be that newer versions are available on the DLS

This is for one wagon:

Unknown Location: <kuid:2512:50303>

Unknown Location: <kuid2:2512:15030:1>

Unknown Location: <kuid2:2512:50303:1>

While I very much appreciate the help, is there no automatic way of recovering the missing dependencies. Sorry to be vague, but I have only had this game installed for a couple of days so its all quite new.

The first and third kuids are the same item. They are the same bogey for the HAA hopper. You will see that the third kuid number that you have listed has a '2' straight after the word 'kuid' and a '1' at the end. The middle numbers are the same. This is the means of updating older content, so the first kuid number that you have listed is the original version and the third is its updated version. Go here http://www.pikkarail.com/trainz/freight/haa.htmhttp://www.pikkarail.com/trainz/freight/haa.htm and download the original version of the wagon directly below the 'paypal' icon and the rusty version from the box below titiled 'Bonus Extra'. This is what I did and I have got the bogey on my machine so it should have come with one of these downloads. The middle kuid that you have listed is a wagon called 'BR Freight HAA red' which I think you will get from the first download (under the Paypal icon)

You are welcome. This is the place to come for help if ever you get stuck and in time you will be able to use your experience to help others :D

More Problems with Assets

I am trying to get the Pikkabird Western and Warship Diesel Hydraulic Loco's to work in TS2010 but they all seem to have problems (or I have!), see below:

Western Maroon No Yellows,<kuid2:146848:10008:2>

Error: Unable to load primary texture 'western_body/digit_2c.tga' for texture file 'western_body/digit_2c.texture.txt'.

Error: Binary conversion failed for texture resource 'western_body/digit_2c.texture.txt'.

BR Class 42 Green,<kuid:2512:1425>

Warning: Progressive meshes are no longer supported by Trainz. Though these meshes may work in Trainz, it is recommended that you switch to a LOD mesh.

Plus the same error messages as the Western.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I downloaded Western Maroon No Yellows,<kuid2:146848:10008:2> and checked the mesh file with PEV's Mesh-Text-Viewer and see that the digit_2c.tga texture is not used so delete reference to it using Content Manager. Right click the kuid and select Edit - Edit in Explorer. Double click on config.txt file to open it in Notepad and delete the digit_2c.texture.txt file. Then save and commit.
Do the same to the other wagon. You can ignore the warning statements about progressive meshes and LOD meshes as they won't prevent using the asset. Only errors can cause problems.

Thanks, that did work with that specific loco, the other paints seem to require that texture though.

As an aside, how should I edit the config.txt file, as it does not make reference to the digit_2c.texture.txt? - the fix seemed to be to delete the file itself.
