Missing Dependencies

I recently downloaded three locos by CincySouthernRwy (kuid 45588). All have missing dependencies not on the DLS. All these are by bdaneal (kuid 96914).

The missing items are in the ranges 51xxx, 54xxx. 55xxx, and 504xxx.

Can anyone tell me where to find these?

Jim

Go here.

Grab the 'Common Files' download and the cabs. If you are still missing something d/l the original of whatever wheel arrangement(s) you are downloading...

Dermmy

Downloaded and installed that files contents to no avail. All dependencies: 7 bogies, 2 enginesoecs, 1 hornsound, and 1 interior sre still lost!

How do items with missing dependencies get on the DLS? Thought that's what part of its checking routine did.

I spent six months getting the DLS to accept a perfectly good item (it loaded on the TPR Download Depot first ctrack out of the box, yet items such as these locos get accepted easily. Something just doesn't seem right.

If you were to post the specific KUIDs missing it would help identify what they are from. Though from one of your partial numbers I think you may need to download the Baldwin cdp files for :504* stuff. If you select the unknown dependencies on the View Dependencies window (standard ctrl+click or shift+click methods work for multi-select) and right click you can copy them all to the clipboard and then paste them here. It's also possible to find stuff doing a Google search for the numbers.

For example, copy/pasting one unknown dependency from a locomotive I got a while ago from that site (rather then the DLS) I get:
Unknown Location: <kuid:96914:55201>

A Google search for 96914:55201 took me back to his website where I found out it was a cab I was missing. Google searches for his stuff on his site may not always work though. However often Google searches will lead you to forum threads (here and elsewhere) that will give you the info on what it is you need to download.

I hear your frustration Jim, but if everything with non-DLS dependencies was taken off the DLS there would not be a lot left!

Everything you need for those bdaneal locos is on the page I gave the link for. It might take a bit of digging, but it's there. I have downloaded all of CincySthn's recent offerings and have them all running in TRS06 and I am certain I have not had to chase any assets not on the SubPar page linked to above.

They are worth the effort to get them going...

Gentlemen,

Be kind to an old man with a very slow dialup connection. I have spent hours downloading large (5-7MB - that's hugh on my internt connection) files from ben's site.

I am still missing two dependencies for the original three locos: 96914:504860, a bogey, and
96914:54104, a hornsound

In addition I am missing six bogey files for the Baldwins which I downloaded trying to find the original missing dependencies:
96914:504863
833
870
834
864
865

If someone could email these to me at jfw151142_AT_gmail.com I would certainly appreciate it. Afraid I might not live long enough to get them from Ben's site (oh, to be able to afford broadband!)

Jim

Jeff, I tried sending you the items as cdp files but received the message that it was an invalid e-mail. What do you want to do now. Send me a personal message if you want.

Bob: I spent another hour finding and downloading the specific file you mentioned and, indeed, I now have all the dependencies TO showed as missing. My only problem now is that these locos came without tenders and there are no tenders on the DLS or any indication of where to obtain them! Any clues?

stouthm: you need to replace the -AT- with the "@" sign (without the quotes, of course). Writing it correctly on a public forum would make it available to hackers and scammers.

Thanks guys,

Jim

The 96914:504860 bogey is used on these 2 Baldwins:
Baldwin 2-10-0M,<kuid:96914:4872>
Baldwin heavy 2-8-2H,<kuid:96914:4880>
These are there tenders:
Baldwin 2-10-0M tender,<kuid:96914:4873>
Baldwin heavy 2-8-2H tender,<kuid:96914:4881>

Bob

Bob,

Thank you for that info. I do have all those items. What i do not understand is how anyone can upload a locomotive described as a particular number for a particular road without furnishing an appropriately labeled tender to go with it. It may be totally accurate but it is also totally misleading.

At least I can probably add my own road name for my own personal use.

Thanks again for all the help.

Jim

Sorry Jim for calling you Jeff, must have been a senior moment. I thought that e-mail address looked funny but again another senior moment. Glad you got all the parts.
