Missing Dependencies for NS Birmingham East End Route

<kuid2:45324:54002:9> does exist; it is "Locomotive sound effects library v1.3" and comes with several JR payware locomotives., Note that this asset has no dependencies, hence it can't be faulty for anything being missing.
<kuid2:45324:555246:9> is "Jointed Rail Train Effects library v 1.47a" and is a dependency of the sound effects library. You are confusing when you write: "The version I have for the sound effect library is v1.47a".
Ahh, I see..
Yeah I’m not expert when it comes to these things as I’m still new and learning but that makes much more sense. Thanks so much

Now, that makes sense! Thank you, HPL for jumping in here with some assistance.
The highest version I have is <kuid2:45324:54002:8>. What assets did <kuid2:45324:54002:9> come from?

@Trainzisfun

Go to the Content Store and download anything that's available to you. This should update anything you may need and perhaps provide at least the <kuid2:45324:54002:8> version which we can use to fix your locomotive.
Got it. Yeah that makes sense. Thanks so much!
I think it’s from all the versions that I listed because I right clicked on it and it actually has the options to download and download this version but as I clicked on list asset version it came out with the exact same versions I listed like the v1.05 and etc…if that’s what you’re talking about

Edit: Yeah nevermind that v1.3 with the :9 it’s still saying that it’s not found on the download station

But in that case as HPL mentioned that it comes with several JointedRail Payware, I shall download them because I actually do have some of the payware locos from JointedRail and they all work

They will show as installed if that's the case.

I recommend adding in all the columns in Content Manager and then rearrange them by dragging them into the following order by clicking and holding on the column heading and dragging. You may have to resize the columns too because they're opened all the way by dragging on the bar.

Type, Status, Name, Asset ID, Build Version, Author Username, File Size, Installation Date, Modifcation Date, Upload Date.

The reason for this is to give you as much information as you need. Once you have the columns, click on status to sort them so that you can see whether they're on the DLS or not. This setup also helps with other things in Content Manager.

Ah, okay awesome! I will look into doing that. Thank you for your help in all this and the advices. If anything I’ll let you know and also now I’m just waiting to hear a response from Flamerailzzz about that crossing gate

Ah, darn I’m gonna have to buy them. Is there a way I am able to find that dependency asset on JointedRail? Like maybe it’s one of the dependencies for the Train Effects on there?

This was the answer for JCitron regarding version 9. Previous version will work. It is "Built-in" in Trainz Plus, so I guess in TRS22 too.

Ah, and I tried that but still didn’t work..as in right clicking it and downloading the asset. Kept on saying that this asset was not found on download station

If it's built-in, it's not on the DLS.

List your versions again. You can sort by kuid number if you set up your columns like I said above. There's a way to modify the locomotive to work with the older one easily.

@HPL I have GILA and the other routes and content installed but I don't have the :9 version.

Ah ok cool. Well it does says unknown location so I don’t think it’s from in-game

Ok sounds good. Oooh what’s the way of doing that for the locomotive? Cause not gonna lie it’s making all my contents faulty due to that. Though also, is it possible if there’s like a video tutorial on making those columns and such? I kinda do better by watching and being able to follow through

From GILA Railway (v1.0) it is in "GILA Release Session Deps.cdp".
From Eagle River Railway (TRS19 version) it is in "Eagle_River_RR_Train_Dependencies.cdp".

From GILA Railway (v1.0) it is in "GILA Release Session Deps.cdp".
From Eagle River Railway (TRS19 version) it is in "Eagle_River_RR_Train_Dependencies.cdp".
I have both but don't have that version of that library.

Strange! I just checked to verify, and both files do contain <kuid2:45324:54002:9>. "GILA Release Session Deps.cdp" contains 118 assets and is dated 2024.12.29, and "Eagle_River_RR_Train_Dependencies.cdp" contains 75 assets and is dated 2024.02.11. Maybe you have older versions of those files?

@HPL and @JCitron Question for you both. For the GILA route, I believe that’s what it is. Did both of you had to purchase that route in order to have any of the dependencies? It’s probably a yes question obviously, but for what I’m missing for the TRC US WCH M10 Gate only asset, I just heard as I was doing some searching from a past post on the forum here that there is this website of NARM Trainz and it was said that some of the payware crossings managed to get to the dependency pack of the GILA route. So I went to that website and saw the payware route but also am seeing the dependencies for the route and the one for the route not the alco deps but for the route, and it brought me to the drive folder for the route dependencies and it looks like I can just download it or them?

But I’m wondering if I’ll be able to find that crossing because I did try searching on the archive but not much luck and so I saw a post on here that spoke about TRC and found an archive to reggiesTrainz and as I saw there is a freeware of some of the crossings but I can’t really tell if the one I’m looking for is there because it may seem that it might be a payware but it looks like the Payware isn’t accessible

I purchased and downloaded the GILA route because I wanted the route and not for the dependencies.

The crossing gate may be from Reggie's Trainz freeware. I don't remember but I have that installed and I did not purchase any of the crossing gates from him. As is probably the case with many assets, the crossing gate came from something else I installed either free or purchased. Payware content will not be available on Archive.org. That would be a rare thing if it is. If anything, download the freeware crossings from Archive.org anyway. You can always use them in other routes, besides other routes may use that dependency.

Any payware from a third-party usually contains the payware that the content-creator is offering in addition to freeware assets that are either available on their website in addition to what is available on the DLS. Payware from someone else doesn't mean they are going to distribute someone else's payware content.

As far as the GILA dependencies, these are the usual stuff such as grass splines, etc. with many available on the DLS as well. You may get lucky and find the crossing gates in there but I doubt it. The route is well done and I recommend purchasing it anyway.

Now for a lesson on assets. Assets are installed globally in your folders and are not specifically only available to a route or session you install. If you install the GILA route and any dependencies that go with it, they will now be available to anything else that may need the same assets and you can use them just the same in your own routes. DLC offered through N3V's Trainz store is similar. The packages downloaded from the Content Store may contain assets found on the DLS as well as custom assets. They are bundled into a "package" for your convenience, and just like all other assets installed, they are now available for use.

This is a unique setup compared to other games and programs where each installed module only has assets and components available to that module and nothing else.

As far as the route you installed, you can edit that route and replace that missing crossing gate with something else. Edit the route in Surveyor. If there's a session available, open the session and then do a Save-as. This will create a clone. By opening and saving the session, this will preserve and driver commands and industry configurations for the session.

Open the route for editing in Surveyor and run the Delete Missing Assets utility. This will remove the missing grade crossing gates asset from the route.

Save the route... Choose the save route and do not save session.
Replace the crossing gate with something else and then configure it to work with the other TRC components. I recommend looking at how other TRC objects work. Hint: It's really simple!

After that, you should be all set.

@JCitron Ahh, I see. You know that might actually be a possibly method for me to do for replacing that crossing because I could probably just install another crossing or something and use it there. Plus, I have done something similar like this where I’ve like modified a route, the Kickstarter Route by cloning it and save-as by doing that through creating a session and I’ve made the route longer by adding more scenery and other things and I love it and I’m thinking with this route I can do the same because I actually wanted to see if I could modify it as well, if I didn’t have that missing error thing. So thank you so much for that suggestion, definitely going to look into it.
Is there like a setting in the surveyor mode for running that delete missing asset utility thing or where can I find it?
And is it also possible that if you don’t want like the session modules within a route that’s payware or that you purchased, can you delete them and just like create your own stuff or whatever you want to do?

Also Kinda sucks now cause I wish by now I was playing with the route but now I may have to wait until summer to do more stuff as my spring break is coming short to a close but luckily I’m out for summer in May.

Also about the archive.org website, I did try going on there and trying to download what was available but for some reason it’s like the website is not there or visible but I do see what you’re saying about it and also about the payware too. Also about the assets too because I never knew that.

I am still brand new to this game and still trying to learn new and more things as I am in my 20s and first had my first trainz game on pc back in 2019 or 18 when trainz 2019 came out. So this is really good that im learning all of this from you.

Thank you so much man. Is there a way of if I have anything else or more questions I can reach out to you? You’ve been a huge help

And also I will definitely look into that GILA route and purchase it otherwise. Is the route available from NARM Trainz and is that website still functioning?

Yes, the route is still available directly from NARM and their website is functioning and functioning well. I recommend checking out their free assets.

You are welcome, I'm glad I could help. Updating something like TRC assets on a route is really quick, meaning it can be done in a few minutes.

What you discovered about Archive.org is very common with websites that have gone kaput. Sometimes, the links are still available and are still there for years then for others the links stop sooner.

What I recommend doing is whenever you need to download dependencies for a route, download whatever else the content-creator(s) offer on the site and save the cdp and zip files to an external hard drive after you've installed the assets. Obtaining these assets and installing them will make the next hunt a lot less painful and you'll also have backups should you need to reinstall content again. Having archives like this has saved me a couple of times when I reinstalled everything from scratch.
