"Missing dependencies" and "obsoleted" in Content Manager Plus

OK, I wasn't sure whether to create a new thread for this, but I've done so as it wasn't strictly related to my original problem. I'm extremely grateful to all those who have replied to my initial post, but I feel that I need to resolve this particular issue before I can go any further.

Basically, I have TRS2006 (with SP1), I'm really stumped with Content Manager Plus and I can't figure out if I'm doing anything wrong.

In the thread "Texturing routes in Surveyor", Lewisner recommended that I download the routes "ECML Central" and "ECML South". Unfortunately I've been unable to do so as I've been left with "missing dependencies" and errors like this:

"<kuid:53695:27050> is obsoleted by a later version. Download aborted."

It isn't exactly obvious which of the dependencies are "missing", since assets such as "Watercolplatformlever" and "Watercolumnbasin" flag up missing dependencies, but when I right click and select "View Dependencies", these assets all seem to be dependent on each other. Can anyone help me and suggest what might be wrong here?

I understand there's a Download Station which is separate from CMP. Is it possible to download a single file (.cdp or whatever) which neatly encapsulates all of the dependencies? I'm becoming frustrated because I've tried to download several routes now, and I can't seem to resolve these dependency issues.

Nope it's telling you that the item has been obsoleted so why would it download the previous version of it if a newer version of that asset is available.

If that item is on the DLS then you can always get it via FTP and install it manually.

After seeing it mentioned in the other thread I've recently downloaded one of the ECML routes too, and also have a lot of missing dependencies. That said, I did get one labeled v1.4, not the plain old Central and South versions. Since it had a later upload date I thought it might be more suitable to 2006...

As for the obsolete message I wondered about it myself. I have a number of items installed that show me there are newer versions available. Maybe there's a simple reason, but I don't understand why there is no option to simply find and download the newer version if it's on the DLS.

In the case where a dependency is found to be obsolete, I'd think it better to download an old version than to not download anything at all, thereby risking breaking the object/loco etc.
