My dad is upgrading from Trainz 2006 to 2009. He's had a layout that he's worked on for a long time that we're trying to move over. For some reason, when we installed 2009, 2006 stopped working. It started giving us error messages that either his profile couldn't be found or that a serial number hadn't been entered. Both CMP and the Trainz 2006 program aren't loading.
Is there a way that I can more directly migrate his layout from the old to the new version? We had migrated this layout before from an earlier version of Trainz, and after tweaking it he made it work in 2006, but I can't help but feeling that somehow we've missed something in the process. I haven't been able to find a "for dummies," as it were, instruction guide of how the maps and assets work, and how to migrate them between versions.
