Mexico - Ferrocarril de Altas Montañas (FdAM)

Hi flusi,
Really impressive work! You’ve captured the essence of the area beautifully. Keep up the great work! I’d love to try running some exotic trains on this route, especially South American prototypes. I have a feeling my computer would probably give up loading that much scenery. 🤣

Hi Flusi,

Thanks for allowing us to immerse in your beautiful mexican world :) !
I've a question regarding your tunnels : they look perfectly dark (y) . I've tried to build some dark tunnels using a plain black texture (RGB 0,0,0), but, due to new lighting system in TS2019, the "walls facing the sun" turn to be totally light-grey ...
Could you please indicate the kuid number of these ?

Cheers,

Philippe

Hey Philippe, its the rather standard <kuid2:45324:38026:1> JR MS Lt Grey Tunnel. I only use it for walls and roof but lay different track inside it cause of the Tunnels often starting and ending mid curve, which Trainz can't handle without wonky turns

Also, if anyone has any ideas left: I'm on the latest TRS22 version, and performance still degrades rapidly. I run on a RTX5080 and 64GB of DDR5 6000mhz RAM so i don't see any system issues. I start out at 60-80fps, after about 1h or 50km drive i'm down to 40 and the stutters start when turning or changing view directions. After 2-3h i'm down to 10-15fps and sometimes minute long load times when changing positions on the map. This is unacceptable / unplayable and the main reason this project had been discontinued for a year now. Any help or suggestions would be great here

Mapfile is about 90mb, Route size 589mb. My Butte Sub which does NOT have that issue has a 480mb mapfile and 800mb total size - runs totally fine

Hi Flusi,

Thanks for your suggestion :) .
I've tried it, but it's the same as usual : the wall opposite to the sun is black, but the wall opposite to the north is light gray .
On your video, they are black . Would you have turned off the direct lighting off and let only the ambient lighting, in your environment settings ?

Cheers,

Philippe

Okay so honestly, what is this....

Fluid 60fps, no stutters, completely fine

A bit later, 0.51 fps (!!!) Same Area, same buffer/index stuff which has nothing to do with this issue at all

I may fixed the performance degradation though, it was caused by the JR Searchlight & Safetran Signals or their library. I updated it, but it was only gone once i disabled all the used signals on the route. So thats that issue solved - and i guess we are dark territory now

EDIT: Yeah confirmed, signal.gs / 04signal.gs calls increase by up to 10.000/second with signals on the route

Now that the stutter issues seem at least a bit reduced, i think i'll continue working on this. The next problem already started however, Trainz does not recognize my keyboard inputs and the camera occasionally moves on its own - even with no USB hardware connected. Ain't this a great game...i already know why i left it in the first place

Also, thanks for absolutely NOTHING N3V. And yes thats not SP6, cause that is unusable and gets worse with every "HF" since they wont ever listen to their customers for once.

Edit: Never f***** mind, Database Repair this, authorization failed that, i'm done with this garbage again. God i hate this sim and its devs, always forget after a few months and try to return but yeah here we go

I think a lot of us share your frustration flusi.
I decided to take some time out from building due to my sanity.

Fantastic looking route by the way.
The time and effort that has gone into this must have been intense.....superb work.
