Mesh Viewer - Textures Scrambled?

epa

Angry Trainz Nerd
I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong place.

So I'm not sure what the problem here is, but it looks like the textures in Mesh Viewer 2.27 running as administrator (2.29 has the same problem) are scrambled. I feel like I've had this problem before, but I can't remember how (or if) I fixed it. In case you can't recognize it, the locomotive pictured here is Jointed Rail's CSX YN3 GP40-2. The locomotive's textures have not been tampered with in any way. Obviously, it does not display like this in game.

Furthermore, my graphics driver is up to date. Do any of you tech nerds know how to fix this?

Thanks
Matt

If the version you are using supports three render methods, try changing the render method.. one of the methods (shader render) only works with Nvidia graphics cards.

Do the assets you are rendering have script controlled texture replacement? My viewer can, obviously, not support that.

Thanks for the reply. I will give it a shot and report back here.

This particular model does not.

UPDATE: I changed the render mode to "Basic Bumps", and then "Reg Combiners". They both resulted in this...

Well, they're not scrambled anymore. I've had MV working on this same PC before, so I'm not sure why it's acting up now.

Unfortunately Mesh Viewer was devised before the extensive use of alpha channels to control other render features. So the result you have there is to be expected with that type of model. If you have an NVidia graphics card try the other render method..

I don't propose to update the program because TANE has its own preview device.

Nope, I have an AMD graphics card. I have had Mesh Viewer running fine on this PC before. I don't know what I'm doing wrong now. I have also used this same model before with no issues.

Change the Render Method in the Setup menu. I had this problem a while ago and that fixed it.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, changing the Render Method only caused more problems.

I remember having a much older version, 2.25 I think it was, working flawlessly. I will uninstall 2.27, install 2.25 (or whatever version it was) and report back here.

Downgrading to 2.25 resulted in triumphant success. Thanks for all the help.
