Menus are BLANK please help

I just bought trainz for mac. i'm using a brand new 27 inch imac. should run trainz fine.
:'(
when trainz starts up the menu is completely blank.
in fact in the upper left corner there is no text. its invisible.
i can select from that menu but cant see what i'm selecting.
this is a nightmare. has anyone any information on this problem?
i cant use the program at all.
