Maybe I need lucky white heather?

Recently found needed more medication for yet another complaint on an already erratic health life, Then tripped on the stairs crashing down on my side painfully(second time) and injuring an arm. I then visited hospital for Physio help. This was followed a short time later with a small fire requiring the Fire Brigade and a new cooker and redecoration required in the kitchen. My reading specs went missing and were found by standing on them. Took them to be carefully put back into shape and fixed. However the next day lost the damn things while out having been stuck in unwell for days. My pc had been playing up interfering with my regular escapes into the Trainz world. It finally died although my 2 routes were thankfully copied on a separate HD.

The one glimmer is that I found a small pc company and they would dispatch a pc the next day by courier via an extra charge. Somewhat naturally I paid this and it is scheduled to arrive up here in Glasgow on Friday so perhaps at last I might have something to look forward to?!

You need a field full of it (heather) with your luck, without bad luck you'd have none at all. Hope things improve drastically for you.

Thanks. Well looks like (according to tracking) my new pc which will be solely for Tainz will not now appear until Monday (!). The laptop will have to keep me content a little longer. Being a Glaswegian it could be worse, I could be married and living in Edinburgh!

Hi pfx,

I got it from a company down south in the land of the Sassenach. They deal in general pcs and those of a more gaming nature hence I have allocated more bawbees for such a machine. Have been trying to track my machine which I now think is in Cumbernauld and my hope is that Fedex will arrive in Glesca on Monday although should have been Friday. I paid extra to have it within 24 hours. That would be 2 working days (weekend doesn't count) instead of one but I don't mind as most companies you can wait up to 14 working days for specifically what you want.

For now I have a copy of TRS09 on my laptop so I can pass my waiting time driving trams about my massive Glasgow tramway. Have a copy of my N. Ireland Rlys project on it as well wth some hiccups. And bumped into an old flame who has been married for some time to a waster. Said that when she looked back at us what a wonderful time it was but I have Trainz now.......

Bobby I love your humour !! You will need some more medication in the form of a few drams no doubt.

You must watch yourself and take more time doing things. Like glasses, always put them in the same place. I always do that, and when I make coffee (many times a day) I always put the sugar in the same place, till the wife gets some cereal or summat, then I have to hunt for it. I once found it in the fridge !!!

Take care Bobby, things will look up when you get the machine back.

At least you aint as cold as me, last night was 27 below freezin, with colder tonight !!

Heavens Paul that is cold and worse than me being dumped in Auld Reekie (Edinburgh to those unlucky to be non-Scots). This a brand new pc I am waiting for when FedEx gets round to delivering it. I paid extra for express delivery and being a Scot value my money of course. so roll on Monday and hope. With erratic health I also value Trainz and my female friends as a distraction. Women are wonderful creatures but I have found Trainz to be more easily controllable......

and cheaper than women LOL !!

NW of here had a record 47 below last night, and it heading this way ....

Just spent an hour getting the car to start, battery froze I think. Then drove to garage to fill up, and stalled, had to wait for a jump start. This PA in winter is a joke !! Wish I was back in UK ....

Well off to watch the football (US) I am 6th out of 4400 people at guessing the games. so I hope Packers and Steelers win today, then maybe get a prize for a trip to Hawaii for a week

Well my new pc arrived on Monday morning. Installed trainz on it but before transferring my Folder of stuff had a prob with the patches being taken on board. The laptop was a handy stop gap but was getting Trainz withdrawal symptoms as I couldn't get on with my build of the NIR in Ulster.

Many years ago I had a girlfrined who gave me an ultimatum it was either The Boys' Brigade or her (I had popped in on the way home in uniform being a Lieutenant then-later Captain). So I gave a passing smile put on my Glengarry hat and was off. A friend of mine at the time had been thinking of geting engaged but said to me over a coffee he wasn't sure whether to buy a ring or new golf clubs. When we met again I asked how his girlfriend was and he said in a detached way that Ann had left him. I asked why and it seems he had bought the goldf clubs. It's all about priorities.

Still to get a new cooker due to the minor fire (although have a microwave and a Forman's Grill. You will note my priotity was getting on Trainz not the cooker........

Well done Bobby !!! Got ya priorities right. Got down to -41 last night (record is -47), so a cooker here has 2 uses, cooking and heating in an emergency. Bit like the large women round here, good for winter LOL

WoW ... -47 F or C ?

That is a "two dog night" (to keep yer' feet warm).

A "three dog night" is a 1970's Band ... or -87 F

The more people I meet ... the more I like dogs !

No it was 41 below freezin F. Actually -9 degrees, you get frostbite in 10 mins here, 2 people died, frozen in their car last night.

That would be a bit on the nippy side alright. There were parts of Scotland that set new UK records with -22 degrees C. Here in Ulster, we had a couple of -20s C. The whole place ground to a halt. Mind you, that happened as soon as we hit -2.
