Marias Pass Route X

Hi guys, I have a quick question, I purchased the Marias Pass Route X and I installed it to my TS12 backup folder and there are no cdp's. Does anyone know why?

Thanks

That's probably where the pointers in your Windows Registry point to. Here's a workaround:

1. Clear your internet history/temp files.
2. Run the installer.
3. Once it's all ready to install, but before you actually click the Install button, look in your internet history. On XP, this is typically under "c:\Documents and Settings\{your logon name}\Local Settings.
4. Under Temp (I think, going by memory here) you probably will have an oddly-named (the name is randomly-generated) folder with a bunch of CDP files in it. Install those and, I recommend, copy them somewhere as a backup.

You may have to search for them then. Again, I'm pretty sure it was somewhere under Local Settings. I don't think the installer cleans up after installation either since I had them lying around after I ran mine.

There should be an installer that loads the route and sessions into TS12. Make sure you run the installer as administrator if you are using Win7. The installer can taks sometime to install the assets so be patient. If you can't read a RAR file, using your installed software, download 7ZIP. This is a freely available program that will open RARs as well as other formats including ZIP.

A bit late, sorry, but the downloaded MPRRx file is a self-extracting .exe archive. Various freeware exists to unpack this archive (I used Stuffit Expander on my Mac), and then you end up with an install.exe and a CDP41 folder with some 35-odd .cdp files. Windows users can install with either install.exe or by importing the .cdp files one-by-one into their TS2010 or TS12. Mac users can only do the latter with TS:MAC.

Or you can use "Import Content" and point Content Manager to the folder containing the CDPs.

Hi guys, I got it working, I extracted it to the TS12 folder and it showed up in game. Thank You for all your help it is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

In TS1210 or TS12, but I haven't found a way to do that in TS:MAC...
Also, after installing or importing has completed, it will be necessary to commit some 400+ assets that are found to be Open for Edit -- yes, I did manage to do that in-one-go, fortunately.:)

There should be a setting in your Content Manager to auto-commit assets. This exists in the Windows version and really does help a lot in cases like this. :D

Try using a download manager like Freedownloadmanager.org's tool to redownload. I used another one but any decent, adware-free one should do the trick.

Thanks RR , I did use internet dlm the last time. I am in doubt whether I should try to dl again....3 Gig's down the drain every time.

Hi,

I'm also having some issues with the installation.

The content (shapes, etc) are there, but the textures are not. For example, when clicking on the Amtrak F40PH Blue, the engine shows with the Amtrak lettering, but looks like a bunch of tin cans stacked.

Thread Exception: ER_NullReference, line 705, file hpdieselloco.gs

Stack Dump:

<kuid2:46162:100008:3> "Amtrak F40PH blue stripes HP"

function $void@hpDieselLoco::GetPosition(), line -1
function $void@hpDieselLoco::SetCheck(Message), line 691
function $void@hpDieselLoco::Init(), line 156
function $void@MeshObject::Init(Assett), line 316

Just for the heck of it I tried loading a Marias Pass X scenario-- just loved the psychedelic colors of the tracks, hills and sky!! It's actually mesmerizing. I think I need to post a screen shot somewhere.

Auran content is okay.

TS2010, Windows Home Premium 7-64bit, RailDriver

Although I've had TS for awhile, I'm a noob when it comes to adding content, etc.

I am happy to report that Josef kindly sent me the DVD after my dl problem.

I have not received it yet but our PO still uses pigeons and I hope a hawk did not catch mine.

I need to qualify that statement. It looks like all Auran content is okay so far (TS 2010 has been on my system for less than a week) except for at least tunnels in the Port Ogden content. They are see-through wire frames.

Glenn,

This sounds like a video-driver issue, or texture compression issue. Go into CMP and uncheck texture compression (Found in the preferences) then open up for edit your newly installed tunnels from PO, and then finally recommit them. This will force the program to update the items. Now go into Trainz and see if the content appears properly.

If this is the case, you'll need to open up all the MPx content and then recommit that as well in order to clear the texture compression option.

John,

Thanks for the assistance. I first tried to see if there would be any difference between OpenGL and DirectX, but there was not. I found Edit/Settings/Misc/Enable Hardware Acceleration of Compressed Textures and unchecked it. Since I didn't know how to easily find the Port Ogden tunnels, I tried it out on the F40PH Blue. That cleared up the texture visibility of the engine in both Driver and Railyard, but I still received the Thread Exception and Stack Dump.

I then tried to start an open on all Built-in = False content which I ended cancelling due to the amount of time it was taking. Ran the commit on all "Open for Edit" and now I have over 13000 faulty content items (none were marked faulty previously) with "Unable to read config file for asset...". Never-the-less, I attempted another shortened bulk open for edit and tried to run a commit over night and even that didn't complete-- I'm running an i7 third gen, with 8 Gig of RAM.

Did I install in an incorrect direcory? I used C:\Program Files (x86)\Auran\TS2010 for the installation of Trainz and the Marias Pass.

There has got to be an easier way!! I have not downloaded any content other than the 3 addon packs (Blue Comet, Dutches and PRR-T1) plus Marias Pass X and there are 209,169 items.
