Map Texture colour

Hi all

Might be an easy one but i cant find the answer. My texture colour in minimap is completely different then that in surveyor. Instead of green lush countryside colours thats in the real model I have purples and blacks on the minimap that do not coincide with the actual texture colours. Is there any way to rectify this so that the actual texture colours of the landscape appear on the minimap.

This is an interesting one and I've never thought about it. Are all your colors incorrect in the mini-map or just a few? If it is all then it may have to do with the number of colors being displayed. If there are too many for the computer to display then it will perform a pallet swap, and reduce the number of colors to what the video card can handle. It could also be a limitation to what the mini-map can handle. Perhaps that has a fixed pallet that is smaller than what is in the rest of the game.

Hi John

It is all of them, not that i have alot of texture on it, ive just started out on a new route so not many at all. I then created a newer route and changed the region but to no avail i put on a single colour and the same thing happened. When I open a built in route and check the minimap all the colours are perfect. Its a funny one and this never happened before.

Hi Rory,

Try making a test map using the built-in textures. It maybe the texture that you are using that have an issue. Now that I've been doing some thinking about this, I do recall seeing this with a couple of textures. The texture its self was a grass texture, but when viewed in the map, it was black. Which one it is, I can't remember because I replaced it with something else and never thought about it again.

Hi John

Tried this before and all it done was cover the lovely colour of hawes junction into blue and black lines. Leave it with me, i still have to try out my line in driver mode. maybe this only happens while in surveyor.

Thanks john

Hmmm... Sounds like a bad Video Driver. What sort of video driver is yours, and is it a Intergraded Graphic card, like say a Unicrome Pro video card.
