manually loading passengers, changing driver posision

hi, i am using the br midlands fantasy route, and have created a session with 1 consist of two "class 153 East Midlands" , and nothing programmed, just for me to drive around the route in.

what i'd like to know is, when i pull up at a station, can i manualy load/unload passengers, if so, how, and if not, how do i do it automatically?

and also, when i come to an dead end piece of railway, how can change the direction of my train, i.e. make my driver go to the opposite end of the train, so that becomes the front.

I hope i've explained this well enough.
thanks

Hi adman500.

Not really sure how to answer your first question:o , but the second is easy.

Once you have loaded/unloaded passengers at your dead-end station, all you have to do is go to the External View (2 key) and select the other loco. Go into Cab View (Key 1) on the new loco and then back outside to see your result. It doesn't always work, but most of the time it should.

If your loco has a cab at either end, use Alt+C to go to the other cab.

Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.

thanks, that helps,

about the passengers loading/unloading, is their a button on the keyboard that i press, or is it just one of those things where i just 'imagine' it, (I know passengers just appear/dissappear on the platforms, but is that only, or can it be done in my 'freeroam' session?

thanks

There are 'industry' platforms/stations that handle loading/unloading passengers, but in those situations it's automatic, there is no key to press as in MSTS or RS/RW, it just happens automatically when you stop. (If you are using industry platforms, then usually control of the train is wrested away from you while the doors are open anyway). The loading/unloading time is usually too short, so it's best to imagine a little extra on the end and sit there until the 30-60 seconds have passed.

If you're not using industry platform/stations, then you need to use your imagination and pretend that passengers are getting on/off. That or learn the basics of surveyor and change the platforms (or add invisible industry platforms) to industry ones :)

Passengers appearing/disappearing on a station platform will only happen if:-

1. the station/platform is a passenger active industry (one that loads/unloads people) or has track that is a passenger active industry.
2. the carriages on the train are passenger active - that is they will load/unload passengers when they stop at a passenger active industry.

These characteristics must be built into the track/platform/station (in the case of point 1 above) and into the rolling stock (point 2 above) by the original designer - although there is a "fix' you can add to the config.txt file of a carriage to make it passenger active but the passengers will not be visible inside the car as they are in a fully configured carriage.

Assuming both these conditions are met then both the carriage and station will load/unload passengers whenever the train stops at the platform - regardless of whether the train is under AI control or you are using manual driver control (either cab or DCC mode).
